John Lasseter will co-direct Toy Story 4 with Pixar veteran Josh Cooley

Source: JoBlo

We already know that John Lasseter will helm TOY STORY 4, and now it’s been announced long-time Pixar employee Josh Cooley will co-direct the film with Lasseter. Cooley first got his start with the company as an intern on CARS, and has worked on several other Pixar projects, including RATATOUILLE and UP. He was also the head of story on the upcoming Pixar film INSIDE OUT, and directed a short that will be on the Blu-ray for the animated movie.

The fourth movie reportedly won’t be a continuation of TOY STORY 3, but a standalone romantic comedy with the toys being the focus. Those recently released details rubbed some fans the wrong way, however I have a lot of faith in the peeps at Pixar. Although I’m not expecting TOY STORY 4 to receive the same level of critical acclaim as the first three films, I’m still very happy that the toys are heading back to the big screen in a new adventure.

A thrilling new trailer for Sir Ridley Scott’s Sci-Fi masterpiece, BLADE RUNNER: THE FINAL CUT, commissioned by the BFI and Warner Bros. with support from the Blade Runner Partnership and created by Ignition Creative London, is released today.

BLADE RUNNER: THE FINAL CUT (2007) – Ridley Scott’s definitive version – will be in cinemas across the UK from 3 April when it is rereleased by the BFI, giving a new generation of film lovers the chance to experience one of the greatest and most cinematic Sci-Fi films of all time on the big screen. The new trailer captures the energy of Ridley Scott’s 21st century cityscape, featuring some of the film’s most memorable moments with dramatic use of Vangelis’ soaring soundtrack. It has been personally approved by Ridley Scott, currently shooting on set in Eastern Europe.

Commenting on the trailer, Scott said: “The Final Cut is my definitive version of BLADE RUNNER, and I’m thrilled that audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy it in the way I intended – on the big screen. Tim Burton to Direct Live-Action ‘Dumbo’ for Disney

Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Tim Burton will direct Disney’s live-action Dumbo.

In the latest move by the studio as it continues to make live-action versions of its animated classics, Disney has tapped the Big Eyes helmer to take on the tale of a baby circus elephant who is made fun of for his large ears, based on the iconic 1941 film.

As THR exclusively reported, Transformers franchise writer Ehren Kruger penned the script. The film will use a mix of CGI and live action to bring the classic elephant story to life and will add a unique family story that parallels Dumbo’s journey. Justin Springer, who worked on Tron: Legacy as well as Oblivion, is producing with Kruger.

Over 20 new books to be published leading to the release of Star Wars VII

Source: JoBlo

In the months leading the the film’s release, several publishers will band together for a series called JOURNEY TO THE FORCE AWAKENS. Spanning over twenty books, the series will include novels and other types of books that illustrate the events taking place between RETURN OF THE JEDI and STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Working with the screenwriters for the feature films, these books will be the first in the updated Expanded Universe. The hundreds of books and comics previously published are no longer considered canonical to the STAR WARS mythology, so this will be the first direct history of what happened to the Skywalkers and Solos in between the two trilogies.

Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk Look to Crowdfund Their New Series CON MAN

Source: Collider

Firefly fans, a reunion is coming. Sort of. Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk have announced that they are launching an Indiegogo campaign to fund a new web series, Con Man. The series will be written and directed by Tudyk, who will star alongside his former shipmate Fillion (who is also producing).

According to a press release for the project,

CON MAN centers around the post-show life of Wray Nerely, (Tudyk) the pilot and co-star of SPECTRUM, a sci-fi series which was cancelled before it’s time and eventually became a cult classic beloved by fans. Wray’s good friend, Jack Moore (Fillion) starred in the series and has gone on to become a major celebrity, while Wray continued to struggle to find his big break. While Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister, Wray tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events. The show will explore all the weird and crazy things that happen to Wray along the way, while telling the story of a guy learning to love and embrace his fans

The duo will be joined by other sci-fi actors and fan favorites such as Sean Maher, Gina Torres, James Gunn, Seth Green, Felicia Day, and Amy Acker, and possibly even more if production gets underway.

Watch The Real Michael Bolton Hilariously Recreate Office Space Scenes

Source: CinemaBlend

Mike Judge’s Office Space isn’t exactly a film that celebrates the career of singer Michael Bolton – actually going out of its way to call him a “no-talent ass clown” (one of my favorite cinematic insults) – but it’s to Bolton’s credit that he takes the jabs in stride. How do we know this? Because he actually agreed to recreate the key scenes in the film that mock his name.
