Same reason why I'm not getting Harry Potter now, cos I wanna wait for all 7 movies to come out and get the lot in one pretty box set.

Then again, by the time they did all 7 movies blue laser techonology may be so advance that we may be getting all 7 movies plus extras in one disc! :big grin:

November....

Don't the 2 versions have different features?

OVERALL : Draw - Nearly the same specifications, the only difference being the missing DVD-ROM features from the Region 2 disc.

Although an extended cut is due on 12th of November 2002 which will be presented in a 4 disc set. Disc 1 & 2 will be hold the film (30 minutes longer) and discs 3 & 4 will contain six hours of original supplementary material, full details to follow.

The six hours of extras will not be present on the 6th of August release, likewise the extras on the 6th of August release will not be present on this extended cut, both hold exclusive material. Right now both extended cut DVD's on Region 1 & 2 look identical except EIV (Region 2) has stated the presence of DTS ES not present on the New line DVD (Region 1).

Making the Region 2 the winner on the Extended Cut 4 Disc Set.

Hurray! HdR!....err LotR! (Confusing language posters ;))

But I will wait for a full box set. All the movies plus a purty box....same for The Matrix. And Star Wars.

Still, the date has meaning :yum:

I'll probably get both versions, but I'll rent the 4 disk set before I buy it. There's a lot of deleted scenes in that edition and you wont be able to watch the film without them.
What if they turn out like the deleted scenes in Independence day? Then you'd end up sitting for 4 hours for the sake of an extra half an hour that works against the film, but if they turn out good then Fellowship is probably the only film that could hold my attention for 4 hours.
