As for me, oh there's sooooo many titles I want them on DVDs but they aren't yet, mostly arthouse stuff I only had chances to see when I'm doing cinema studies at uni.

I'd also like to have all Hitchcock movies on DVDs.

Others include:

- The King of Comedy
- Wild At Heart
- Betty Blue (on region 1)
- The Last Seduction
- Sliver (yeah I know it's a crap movie but I'm interested to see the original ending they showed in preview screening. I have a feeling if they didn't change it the movie may be better.)
- The Beatles' Let It Be
- The Beatles Anthology
- Futurama (entire series on region 1)
- The entire 60s Batman TV series with Adam West and Burt Ward.
- not to mention the usuals: SW ep 4-6, Indy 1-3, Once Upon a Time in America, Schindler's List etc...

OK. I'm gonna tell you this but you may cry at the end...

The entire 152-episode TV anime series of "Fist of the North Star" was available in one gigantic 26-disc limited box disc in Japan earlier this year. Costs around $700US (!). The box set is now gone out of print.

Ahhh... the Movie... well you know most anime movies of Japan are spun out from the original TV series (eg Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Yu Yu Hakusho etc). So IMO it won't hurt to watch the TV series as well.

Then again, I'm not urging you to try to find the Japanese TV series box set, let alone learning fluent Japanese. :D

The Leopard (A.K.A. Il Gattopardo)

Burt Lancaster rocks and my dad tells me this movie is great. I've seen sneak peak shots of it and i laughed. Burt Lancaster plays a pirate in this movie. Its old movies like this that need to come to DVD.
I tried looking for this movie @ various video rental places but no luck. Could be because the movie was done in 1963.

Agree. Fox Entertainment (particually in the R1 zone) is somehow retard in their abilities of milking their classic movies/TV show cash cows. I wonder how long do I have to wait to see the DVDs of The Simpsons (Season 3 onwards), Futurama, Batman TV series, Fox's Hitchcock titles...

No, 1900 (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0074084) is a completelly different movie. It has some controversial scenes which were cut from US versions by censors, like
- A prostitute masturbating Robert De Niro and Gerard Depardieu's penises
- Donald Sutherland killing a cat
- Preteen nudity with erections etc.
That's why this movie will be never released in US in uncut version. But I saw in in full version here on cablr channel some years ago :P

I remember seeing this movie on RAI TV when I was a little kid still living in Italy but I never knew the English title because it was dubbed in Italian.

I saw pieces of it again by accident one late night about 15 years ago on American TV but I still didn't know the name of the movie.

Then I forgot all about it and today, for some strange reason it just popped into my head to look for it.

So I Googled for 'pickpocket movies' and it gave me Lee Marvin which lead me to this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/j7wild/harry.jpg

The part I always remember about this movie is the thieves used a pretty blonde to distract their mark so they can pickpocket them and the ending which was quite sad.

It's not on DVD or VHS and I think it should be!!

BTW - it's directed by Bruce Geller, the creator of the "Mission Impossible" series.

From those pictures, it looks like a pretty brunette doing the distracting.
