anyway .. the news is that FOX will discontinue 2 disc or SE orpackage versions of DVD titles... like the ALien Legacy...

According to DVDFile.com, the Alien Legacy DVD set currently in stores (containing all four films of the Alien quartet) will be discontinued as of January 31, 2003. Why? Well, the word on the grapevine is that a NEW version of the set will be released - possibly with more extras? Unlikely as it seems, would it be too much to hope for a Special Edition of Alien 3, for example? All we can do is speculate right now. Here's the report in verbatim:


Fox has also announced 1/31/2003 discontinuation date for The ALIEN Legacy box set. Retailers can continue to sell their remaining quantities until depleted, but no additional orders can be placed after that date. Sources say Fox has already begun work on new editions of the classic sci-fi films, but no official announcement or details have been released so far. Stay tuned!

looks that I'm really gonna wait some more time (to buy this product)... hehehe... :D :cool:

There's already rumours at the end of last year that a 5-star collection of Alien will be released. I guess it explains why the Legacy box set is going oop. Whether the 3 seuqels will receive the 5-star treatment is unknown (or IMO not very likely...) :(

Yep. The only good DVD in the series is Aliens: SE. I didn't like #3 or Resurrection, but 1 and 2 deserve Five-Star treatment.
