Contrary to the rumors floating online, TLC can now confirm to you that the new teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will debut in US theaters before the film Happy Feet on November 17, and will NOT be released on the internet that same day. Official sources tell us that the trailer will not be streamed online until November 20 at the earliest. This holds true on the international front as well, as the teaser trailer will debut in theaters no earlier than November 17 overseas. Finally, the purported date of November 12 for the launch of a new Order of the Phoenix website and teaser poster is incorrect (and too early.) Death Eaters masks - Um... why have they changed? If in GOF that was the first time they had been called to Voldemort since he died I would have assumed that they would be the same masks as they had when he was in power. I wouldn't think they had a monthly get together of 'how shall we re-design our masks this month?'.

The Committee - The chair is meant to have chains on it that come to life and bind anyone who sits in it, but they already ballsed that up in GOF. :p

Education Decrees - I hope those are Fred and Georges fireworks blowing them up, if so that would be a good tie together.

Flying through the city - In the book they flight up in the clouds and avoid towns so as not to be seen so what the hell are they doing flying along the Thames?

Ugh, if I was a movie director and was directing one of these HP movies I wouldn't try and change the things that have happened in the previous ones. I mean, what's next? New quidditch robes? Oh... wait...

I agree it was uneventful in the book, so have it lasting a good 20 seconds in the movie and have more character development instead of adding a pointless chase scene that probably isn't that important in the long run. The amount that they have to fit into the movie they need to have cut un-important stuff out, I remember reading somewhere that S.P.E.W isn't included in the movies cause it isn't central to the plot. Same thing here.

Absolutely. I don't understand studios sometimes... do they NOT want their films to look great?

Not defending Warner Bros, but I reckon the strategy is (and always is): premiere the trailer on low band for die-hard 'I-must-see-it-first' fans online to stream themselves silly (or for the smart crackers/heckers to figure out the direct link for DLing), then bring on the downlowdable version, then bring on the HD versions. Saves bandwidth. Saves money. (And let's face it, we trailer-philes are a minority. Most people just want to see it when it comes out and moves on. HP-crazy kids may not have the patience to wait for a 2-hour DL just to watch the trailer, nor many sensible parents would want them to do so. These kids, or their parents, probably don't have computers fast enough for smooth HD playback either.)

Having said that, it's lunacy to premiere it on AOL UK. Quality issue aside, the AOL Media Player doesn't work on any broswer outside the terrority, so most of the world can't freakin' see the trailer if not for the direct link, as DarkKnight already pointed out. No downloadable version offered, unlike their US counterpart would do. No simultaneous online premiere of the trailer in the US or any other region. Whoever in the publicity dept came up this idea should get sacked, Big time.

Just place the link into your Quicktime player and download it straight into it. Save it right in the player. That's what I did.

You know, I kinda like the US version equally to the international trailer. The US has a little bit more stuff in it like that asian chick. Although I want to hear that Potter theme that was at the end of the international trailer at the end of the US trailer too to add that eairy/excitement feels to the whole movie.

The HD international version posted above, it seems, is not encoded properly. One can clearly notice some artifacts at that scene when Sirius is talking to Harry, & this is somewhat annoying. Moreover, there is a large amount of luma in the trailer but I guess brightness is not a big issue. I just hope Apple or Yahoo releases the HD-international version in a much better quality.

The British Board of Film Classification has updated their website with a new ruling on a trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Rated PG, this trailer is listed with a run time of 1minute 2seconds. The last trailer, the international trailer for OotP was rated back on April 19 (later released on April 22) and had a rating of PG as well. If anyone sees this new trailer either in theaters or is able to capture this via television or the internet, please email to staff@the-leaky-cauldron.org!

I'm not a big fan of HP franchise but I must say, this movie looks interesting. Once again - Harry isn't now for children.

Uhm,..no, thats not the international trailer there. Its the US one, that one has been out in HD for a while now. No new footage there, only darker picture. But I think the new footage showed on Entertainment Tonight could actually be from a brand new trailer that will soon be released. Because there is that new part with voiceover, that looks just like taken out from trailer. It happened with GoF that they first showed a part of the international trailer on TV before it went online.

Hey guys, just a little note - the 1 minute trailer posted above is not the second international trailer, it is an exclusive UK trailer. This trailer is, for sure, not distributed to cinemas in Europe nor anywhere else in the world - only the first international trailer exists at the moment and cinemas have not yet recieved anything that would call itself second OotP international trailer. Plus, second. int. trailers are never this short, they are always at least two minutes long, and it has not yet happened that a newer trailer would have less footage than previous versions. These (later versions of int. trailers) are the most impressive trailers that show A LOT and are really supposed to make the final charge on audiences before movie comes out.

It's a point of view flyhigh, but a lot of people think that anything not from US are international trailers akas french, japanese, deutsch, uk trailers... yes i know it's dumb. Anyway, it's hard to numbered trailers or tv-spots when a movie have a lot of them (like Eragon, DaVinci Code...). Sometimes international trailers are just cutdown from the domestic trailers without new scenes...

Well, if you think of it this way, than people could call it the second int. trailer, because it is a UK trailer. However this is not the real - for cinemas - second int. trailer, it is not the full thing, like with PoA ad GoF (remember those bombastic second int. trailers for these movies?) Plus, I work close to people from this buisness and ive asked those who would know, and so far - this trailer, or any other trailer that would officially call itself the second OotP int. trailer is not available to cinemas across the world. They play US trailer in US and first int. in other countries around the world. I still think this UK trailer is just a longer TV spot, thats been cut from the first int. trailer and is out there for TV broadcasting and if we get the second int. trailer, its gonna have a structure very similar to previous 2nd int. trailers for HP movies, so its gonna be the most impressive one and is gonna show a lot of new footage.

Saw it in cinema yesterday BTW. I'm never a big fan of HP so the film's entertaining but no WOW factor for me except two words: Luna Lovegood.
