Jean-Pierre Bazinet 02-05-2003, 10:31 PM Terminator teaser and trailer coming next week.
editman 02-05-2003, 10:33 PM Yes, tisoy. I'll back you up.
I've begun uploading trailers from my private collection to tisoy's server, most of them are never available online or in high-res. This is mainly because:
1) tisoy's already got a collection of vob trailers, so he'll be directly benefited from my addition
2) tisoy can share my files with Mark Strube, Guiboche and JPB, and either one of you can encode them to QT and add to M-L Classics, Reel Review, or Forum Exclusive.
3) I only got a 56-k dialup at home and I mostly upload trailers with a slow connection. With vob files it'll have to take me several days to do so.
Now I uploaded a few trailers to JPB's server. But I think I have to specify about any multi-day upload, or else once I stop a session, the file on the server's gone the next evening.
Besides I found communications between tisoy and I are easier and friendlier. And for me it is more flexible uploading to tisoy's server, since I realised there're limits to both JPB's server and bandwidth for the M-L Classics.
Just because I'm sending my trailers to tisoy doesn't mean everyone else misses out. On the other hand, we're not putting pressure on anyone to use my resource and add to the M-L Classics. I'm merely sharing my trailer collections with my fellow forumists. It's for everybody here.
But I'm sure someone else besides me and tisoy would be interested in having these on high-res QT. If you do, and want some of the vob files, just talk to me or tisoy and we'll share them with you.
Personally I think it'll be a waste for those who don't collect vob trailers if these trailers are not converted to QT. If I have the softwares and time to do it myself, I will. But I don't, so I have to depend on the experts here (namely Mark, Guiboche and JPB.) If you don't like the titles I'm sending to tisoy, don't use it. At least say something so that we know you know what we're doing.
And just to add more to those tisoy already listed:
Already uploaed
The Birds
A Clockwork Orange (to JPB's server)
2001 (original trailer) (to JPB's server)
2010 (to JPB's server)
The Silence of the Lambs (to JPB's server)
coming soon
Citizen Kane
Bram Stoker's Dracula (trailer)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Ghost
Misery
The King of Comedy
Cape Fear (original & remake)
Vertigo
Robocop
and many many more...
Lafce 02-06-2003, 12:24 PM I recently got 'The Birds' VOB trailer from editman - thanks editman!
I would very much like to see 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' trailer in the M-L classic trailers.:bday:
Rufus 02-06-2003, 03:10 PM Hey guys, please forgive my ignorance but I've got a question for ya ... I realize that I can see the .vob files burned to DVD, but how do you extract say the trailer "chapter" from what are often really whopping big files? And the audio is separate isn't it? Obviously, technically speaking I'm sol here but have lots of trailers on DVD I could upload ... but alas I'm also on 56K dialup like editman. Anyhow ... just wondering?
Movie Wizard 02-06-2003, 03:40 PM There is only one movie saga I would like to see...

Not likely until the DVDs of the original trilogy come out, or someone gets hold of the DiVX files digitised from the laserdisc.
Either way, dream on buddy. We all are.

bizdady 04-27-2003, 07:36 PM :big grin: :big grin: oh yea , i own the original vcds, other starwars dvds , VHS and plan on buying original trilogy once on dvd but for now its holding me down :P
editman 04-27-2003, 07:49 PM Hmmm... as we know tisoy will be in boot camp at the end of May. Which means his FTP will most likely be closed.
That means editman's looking for a new partner so I can post vob trailers from my DVD collections and hopefully posts to the Forum and M-L Classics.
If you are interested, you need:
1) a FTP that allows resume downloading
2) access to your FTP for the big guys of the Forum (ie JPB, Mark Strube, Guiboche etc)
3) skills to convert vob files to QT format is an advantage
You won't get paid but you'll get to keep all the great movie trailers in vob format I FTP to you.
Still interested? PM editman for an interview. :)
(BTW this is not a joke.)
trailergod 04-27-2003, 08:21 PM about the boot camp .. it might not happen .... i hope so,
they will implement new LAWS here, it will only be 6 months long service, 23 years old and above and married- do not need to be in boot camp also and those with a permanent Job or Study do not need too...... so maybe i need to get married by end of May, maybe a Russian girl who wants to be a German citizen...hehehe :P ..
but the FTP will not be up forever coz i will be moving out of Berlin and move to Mannheim (south west germany) and maybe there i can put up another FTP :D , so editman dont worry =)....
i do hope the army won't get me... :ninja: .. but if they do i dont have a choice..
editman 04-27-2003, 08:38 PM That's good news.
Still anyone interested can reply. And I'll be FTPing vob trailers with a dial-up madly! (Hell this should be a Guiness record.)

I can offer you a deal Editman. I'll give you the instructions to convert to QT, which despite my innitial reservations is the easiest to encode to, then you can upload the QT files to my site. I can't offer the bulk of space Tisoy does and it'll only be temp but it'll let you share them all. PM me if you're interested.

Yes, I was looking into converting vob to QT myself too. I just don't have the softwares or the tricks needed.
Sounds great.
