Steve Buscemi is joining the family of HBO's THE SOPRANOS next season. The ARMAGEDDON and GHOST WORLD actor has agreed to star in as many as two seasons worth of episodes, should the acclaimed mob drama make it to a sixth season.

No details about Buscemi's character were given by Variety but the deal also includes him to direct several of the fifth season episodes. Production is starting on the show's fifth season this month.

Never cared much for that show, but Buscemi might make it worth watching

The funniest Sopranos line was in the first episode...

"We went out for coffee."

Now that Buscemi's on, I might start watching in about 2006 when it finally comes over to network TV here in Canada.

I think Buscemi has directed some of the better episodes on the Sopranos already. I'm glad he's pulling double duty as a recurring character too! :)
