View Full Version : THE MATRIX $$$
I'm surprised that I haven't seen any Matrix TV spots yet, I know htis movie doesn't really need advertising but hey could make so much more money if they did. I'm also wondering if there are going to be any more Matrix movies after Revolutions. After all this will make more money than any movie franchise ever - The first MAtrix, Reloaded is supposed to be even more succesful, Revolutions - everyone has to see this one cuz it's the endidng, and then there's the game.
Is the Animatrix going to be a theather release?
That's gonna make so $$ too
aS!Dz 04-05-2003, 09:30 AM oohhh i found it really hard to decide on that poll.....i dont think iv ever thought over a poll so much ever.....good idea :D:D
by the way...im not too sure if they gona release animatrix on cinemas (i doubt it....but people will do almost nething for money)
but they definetly gona make money out of the dvd release which gona contain extra episodes
Marcus 04-05-2003, 12:13 PM The Matrix Reloaded will make more then Revolutions, if only by a small amount. More people will have gotten hooked on The Matrix since it's release because of renting etc, so Reloaded will have the largest audience.
Animatrix will only really be making money off of DVD sales as I understand
Enter the Matrix should be a huge money maker if the game is half decent (as it looks to be :))
Good Point. Reloaded isn't even gonna be on DVD when Revolutions comes out (or for a very short time). The Game, well... I saw the trailer and I don't think the PC version will make much unless they improve the textures
I think the original because a lot of people who saw the original hated it so they probably wont have anything to do with the sequels, and as popular as videogames are too many people still concider them for children. I suspect that the original will remain the best anyway.
First off, I htink a lot more people liked the movie than hated it. Second, I htink Revolutions will make the most money because you have to see hte conclusion, I've read the Reloaded script - the actual one - and Reloaded and Revolutions are basically one story. As to the game, well most money made in the movies is from teens and teens play games, and each game goes for 40 to 50 dollars so it'll make some $$, and don't forget it has an HOUR of exclusive footage.

Firstly I'm not disputing that but there are still a lot of people who really hate The Matrix. More perhaps than you want to believe but that will make a dent in the sequels profits meaning that both sequels will suffer.
Why would 3 make more than 2, which would indicate people who hadn't seen the start would want to see the conclusion.
Also I personally think as cool as the trailers are there's some cheesey stuff in them that could put people off.
I never said the games wouldn't bring in the moolah, I said that more people watch the films so they will bring in more.
Stormwalker 04-05-2003, 11:51 PM its impossible to tell.. but i looked at it like this.. if reloaded is absolute dodge! then revolutions hasnt got a hope in hell...
so. as far as sequels go.. reloaded is what will determine which will make/loose the most money... and because of this i have voted for it! :) hehe

exactly what i think..... i think the first one made a lot more money. the first movies always make more money than the sequels. for people who hated it- they will not see a sequel of it. like my best friend and my parents- they hate that movie and they don't wanna see the sequel.
for those who hated jurassic park.... they're not gonna see jurassic park 2 or 3?? :freak:
aS!Dz 04-06-2003, 02:02 PM i disagree that the matrix will make the most money......as matrix was hit really badly by piracy (due to people not beeing sure if it was really really worth watching in cinemas or not).....they made enuf...but there main money came from the dvd itself, which sold loads and loads...as it was a must buy for any dvd collection........and on top of that u gota remember alot of people have turned into matrix fans who will not make the same mistake twice and will watch reloaded in the cinemas rather den spoiling it. and this will bring more people into the cinemas and on top of that when the dvd comes out....people will buy that as much as they did for the first matrix i reckon......and therfore leading to matrix reloaded and revolutions just about having as much money as each other.
thats my assumption
