Braindead (or Dead Alive as it is often called in America). If you've seen this uncut, you'll realise this is the bloodiest movie ever made.

you guys should check old Italian movies.. they are masters of gore and sex in movies...
also lots of german B movies are like these..
Cannibal ferox (1981)
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0082700
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/35/24/61m.jpg
the the CUTS this movie had to go thru in order for it to be sold to the public..lol
The German Blood Edition DVD release is fully uncut but only has a german language track on it. This DVD is named Make Them Die Slowly.
The Grindhouse DVD is uncut and runs approx 93 minutes.
The UK DVD distibuted by Vipco is the cut version, running 83 minutes, removing most of the gore footage. All elements of actual cannibalism ie:- the cannibals picking at the dead bodies - are removed, and when Zora Kerowa is killed, this edited version plays as though she has dissapeared, never once showing either the actual event of the aftermath of the famous "hooks through the breasts" death. All but one of the animal deaths are missing, and the death of the pig appears trimmed. Also cut, amongst others, is John Morghen's arm being lopped off, the 2 castration scenes, and John Morghen removing a natives eye with a knife.

Well, as far as I know, there is only one movie that kept a running total on the screen and bragged when it reached the "Bloodiest Movie Ever" mark. Even though it has been a few years since it came out, I will have to list "Hot Shots! Part Deux". :P

I still think 'We Were Soldiers' takes the cake.
Its got the lot: Naparm burns, face cutting, blood splatters, blown out throat, skin being peeled off, exposed bodily organs and fluids, stbbings. Hooo it goes on and on.
Bad taste - from Peter Lord Jackson
Saving Private Ryan - first 30's -Omaha beach
Black Hack Down
Kill Bill V1
Texas's chainsaw massacre.

I've seen a great number of bloody movies, but Braindead aka Dead Alive takes the cake, by far and wide. They used just over 300 liters of blood for the final scene ALONE. And for the famous lawnmower scene, blood was being pumped out at 5 gallons PER SECOND. It was also very tounge in cheek and the acting was the best for a zombie movie that I have seen since Night Of The Living Dead.

"Braindead" really has to be the goriest movie ever made, along with "Bad Taste" (Nasty little Peter Jackson ;) )
But I really just can't take 'em seriously, that's why the gore is pretty boring in it
But it's a pretty good movie (Wonder what happene to the actor who played Lionel and the actress who played his Girlfriend)
There is one particular scene in the movie "Nightmare in a Damaged Brain" AKA "Nightmare" (1981) that is freaking disturbing.
I won't even start to mention the f***ed up "Guinea Pig"-Series *puke*
There are two occasions in "Nightmare on Elm Street" where they used a lot of Blood (Glen's and Tina's Death)
Altogether they used 500 Gallons of Fake-Blood during the production.

Did no one remember the river of blood of the Shining? or the old Ninja's movies :ninja: when they cut their heads and a fountain of blood star pouring? or Warlock the Armageddon when it started to rain blood or when the Warlock looses all his blood and when the gas attendant told him that he lost o lot of blood he answered, then fill me up!!
But I have to agree with most of you that Braindead is not only the bloodiest but the goriest movie of all time.

...What is BRAINDEAD? an old zombie movie or something?
BrainDead is a New Zeeland movie, in the US is known as Dead Alive:
Plot Summary for
Braindead (1992)
Lionel, a Mama's boy has the unwanted honor of having to look after his overbearingly evil mother. He ends up falling in love with a local woman who believes that they're destined together. In a moment of intentional sabotage of one of their dates, his mother is bitten by a mysterious creature that ends up zombifying her. It's only a matter of time before she rises from the dead a powerful, bloodthirsty zombie. It's only a matter of time before she starts infecting residents of the town and Lionel has to stop her...and them.
