I know that we had a thread of this not too long ago... but I couldn't find it anywhere. I'm guessing it wuz one of "Matrix's" thread that she/he deleted.
I got a new cell phone and I wanted to announce it. Also, I wanna see if ya'll got a new phone since the old thread. Even not, go ahead and state what kind of cell phone ya got cuz I don't remember any kind of cell phones ya'll have. :)
I used to have a Motorola ST7860W..... piece of crap i've had for 2 years and a half. It worked great until the past couple of months. It kept cutting me off and all.
My new baby:
LG VX 4400
http://65.18.206.49/index_files/lg_vx4400.-L.gif
it is regularly the price of almost 300 US dollars. But I only have to pay 50 dollars if I signed up for 2 more years w/ Verizon Wireless.... so i did. I never had problems w/ Verizon.
Now it's your time to brag.. :P :P

Bought myself an early Christmas present and picked up a new phone yesterday. My RAZR was a POS and the worse phone I've ever owned. I said "Buh-Bye Moto" and got me one of these...
http://www.shoprogers.com/images/sony_ericsson_k790_350x480.gif
I haven't had it a full day yet but I'm very impressed by it. There's not much it can't do and the camera is pretty impressive and has a lot of features for a phone. The difference between an SE and a Motorola is almost night a day.

hey, I have it too :D - to be more precise I have the CTU phone ringtone
too bad that 24 aint that well known in CZE, coz when it rings in a tram, bus or a tube or something, people are usually like "what lame ringtone is that", so I actually feel really cool only in case I´m in pub with my geek-friends/with movie-critics/my closest friends, whom I´ve made watch the show ;)
But I keep it anyway, I dont belong to those kinds who actually use the radio-hits and such a crap...

Hi :)
In the past days I have bought one cell phone and received another as a gift, also from my mother :)
The one I bought is a Motorola F3c, very basic and cheap. This one is for going outside home. Here things are dangerous so if I get robbed I will lost not much money.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c304/jmcc2/moto_fone_f3_1.jpg (source (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/11/28/moto_ships_motofone/))
The other phone is a Nokia E62. For me it's a beautiful phone in design. But: it has no camera and the Symbian menues on this phone are slow. I will use it as a modem to have internet at home but by now I have Linux compatibility problems. I'll comment more things later...

I just got an HTC Ozone and it is pretty sweet. Runs windows mobile and is really an efficient organized unit. Recommend it for everyone who is not interested in diving into a smart phone and still wants a great device.

I don't physically have it yet, but I just ordered a new phone online and should have it in a few days. I am getting an LG Rumor Touch (the pictures are of a red phone, but mine will be black).
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41SWBVbBy9L._SS400_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51soVmVvTJL._SS400_.jpg
This phone will also represent a change in carriers for the first time since I got my first cell phone back in 1998 (well, technically, my carrier changed from GTE to Verizon at some point, but that was their change, not mine). My wife and I will be going with Virgin Mobile (300 voice minutes, unlimited text and unlimited web for $25 per month with no contract). So we will be getting unlimited texts on each phone (compared to 250 texts that we have on each phone now), 300 voice minutes on each phone (compared to the 400 minutes per month we are sharing now on our family plan) and will be getting web access (which we don't have now) for $30 less than we are paying now. Granted, Virgin Mobile uses the Sprint network rather than the Verizon network, but a few people I know use Sprint say they get pretty good coverage in our area.
The Rumor Touch isn't a smartphone, unfortunately, but it should be close enough for my needs.

I just got a Motorola Triumph, my first Android-based smartphone (and my first smartphone with Internet access) a few days ago. It looks like (and has similar specs to) the original Motorola Droid X from Verizon, but mine is on the Virgin Mobile network, so I save a ton of money over Verizon's plans.
The Triumph has a 4.1" touchscreen, 1 Ghz processor, 512 MB memory, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, and runs Android 2.2.2 (Froyo). It may not be the fastest or the most powerful phone on the market, but I really like this phone. My only complaint with it is the battery life is rather poor.

I discovered that I get a significant battery boost if I shut off the 3G data service when I'm not using it. It is quick to turn on again, and I don't have my phone constantly checking my email (I get way too much email for that, I'd never get anything done), so it isn't a problem. But I suddenly went from barely getting through the work day without charging it (after about 11 hours I was down to 8% battery) to getting home with 60% charge. That is a significant difference. But as I said, it is quick to turn back on again, and I use it periodically throughout the day (particularly over lunch).
