Yeah I think there may be something wrong with your screen calibration... to me this trailer looks like it has too much brightness but with not enough contrast (kind of a smoke effect, hard to describe).

[EDIT]
You'll notice that when it does the fade to black from the ML logo, which is true black, when it cuts to the trailer footage, the picture when it's supposed to be true black, brightens.
I dunno, Guiboche is the master of what colors look right, perhaps he can input.

strange, there is nothing here. looks just fine.

Nothing wrong. Obvious international source because it says Columbia at the start. Makes me proud to be British. What? Columbia Pictures are one of the best studios around. What's up with that?

... which is owned by a Japanese company, whose Home Video division in the US has the notoriety of churning out countless DVD versions of the same titles...

Yes, but the quality is almost always superb. :D
Can't wait for the new versions of El Mariachi and Desperado! :zorro:

The trailer does look a little bright too me, but if this was a straight source(DVD)-to-quicktime copy, then this is understandable, since a lot of sources from DVDs lately have been lacking in contrast. Could be from the straight Digital-to-digital copies of late that skip the film process entirely.

If you do decide to (or if you already have) colour correct your trailers, do it by measure what your "curves" or "levels" tell you. Not by what it looks like on your monitor, or the brightness/contress values of the built-in controls of Squeeze.

But thanks for the trailer anyhow! :big grin: Great to get a super -res copy of it finally :) (Just have to finally use those built in QT colour controls, but no biggy ;)
