CBS has given the go-ahead for a pilot script for a proposed RONIN TV series. The pilot will be written by Rick Ramage, a producer whose most recent project, HAUNTED, didn't last too long at UPN. The TV RONIN will differ from the John Frankenheimer directed 1998 movie in that it will have stand-alone episodes, feature a CIA agent as the primary character, and have more of a MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE feel to the stories.

If CBS likes the script they'll commission a pilot, and if they like that, go ahead with the series. The earlist the eyeball network could have its RONIN show ready for broadcast is the fall of 2004.

it is an quite good movie, Sean Bean does a small but -- as usuall -- great role.

I always hated that it got no opening credits though.

Ronin is a great movie, I would prefer it if they could have the series maintain the great atmosphere that Ronin had, why not just make another Mission Impossible series if you want a MI feel?
