After getting out of the car and walking along a path for a while, they discover an open-air restaurant filled with food but with no workers or customers present. Mom and Dad don't hesitate to sit down and dig in, but Chihiro senses danger and refuses. As night falls, she is terrified to see the area fill with faceless spirits, but when she runs to find her parents, she discovers that they have been turned into pigs. She is found by a mysterious boy named Haku, who promises to help her. He gets her a job working in a nearby building, which turns out to be a spa hotel for the thousands of Japan's gods and spirits. Though the work is hard and the people strange, she does as well as she can. Her parents, however, are still waiting in the hotel's stockyard, and Chihiro must find a way to break the spell on them before they end up as the main course of some guest's dinner.

Thanks for the teaser, carl and thanks to editman for the VOB! What an awesome animated feature .. Miyazaki is brilliant! The richness of the illustrations, including backgrounds is amazing, the story is interesting and imaginative .. I really enjoyed it. Poor, carl. But think, my two multiplexes (one 7 screen, the other 12) isn't showing it at all! How does that make me feel!

It was online, but I don't think it's ever posted to this Forum.

But you can't get a better quality than this. For my beloved Forumites I ripped the teaser from the Japanese R2 DVD, with 5.1ch sound.

Now the trailer... If you're talking about the US domestic trailer, we're still looking for it. Damn Disney didn't put it on the R1 DVD.

I'm hoping it may turn up in one of those other Disney DVDs released around the time Spirited Away was released in US threatres. Monsters Inc DVD does not have it. I probably will open my Beauty and the Beast DVD (at last) at weekend to check.

I'll also look into the R4 DVD (different distributor) and see if it has the Disney trailer.

On the other hand, if you're talking about the Japanese threatrical trailer, carl has the VOB and it's up to him to post it or not.

Yeah that's what I suspected. Looks like I'm gonna rent the sucker. Kn'thrak does it come only with the LE or is it on both versions?

NFI! U tell me so I know which one to buy ;)

Don't rent movies.. neither for the trailers. Just not worth it considering the price. Its a 1/3 price to buy a DVD.

You have a point, but if you're like me, who've already got both the R2 (Japanese) and R1 (US) DVDs, you don't really need to buy another R4 version.

Besides, if I'm renting to rip the trailer it's not just for me, it's for my beloved Forumites. :angel"

Oh just checked specs on EzyDVD, looks like trailers are only on the LE.

Crap, now I really don't think Blockbusters have the LEs for rent. :(

I have the US trailer, although it needs some editing.

US trailer as in Quicktime from Apple Trailer (which EVERYONE here has)? US trailer as in VOB? US trailer as in DiVX?

US trailer as in crappier-than-thumbnail Windows Media? AVI? GIF?

Anything that come from a DVD source needs no further editing. Hence I presumed your's not.

Next.

There's a possibility he means it needs editing because it's in the VOB file with other trailers.
So quick to judge editman! :P

Actually it's on DVD. The editing is the for 30 seconds, a blue bar appears and says:
Spirited Away
Footage provided courtesy of Metro Tartan
Showing in UGC Cinemas September 12th

All the other trailers on the disc are like that, which mean that for the time being I can't post the Calender Girls international trailer either. :( But with this one, as it's on the net in good quality, make mine 480 or 640 and use Apple's version in between the bit with the above.

I found that the UK R2 2-disc has the US trailer - and a bonus exclusive trailer The Cat Returns!

You bumped an old thread for this!!? Dah! There's only two active members in this Forum in the UK. No one will have access to the R2 DVD or bother to get it considering the title's out in every other regions.

And since you don't have a bloody clue ripping VOBs, what the heck do you expect? carl to get the DVD, rip and encode and post to the FE? You gonna pay him to do all these?

Besides you have no bloody clue of what the quality is like on the UK DVD.

Anyone wants the US trailer bad enough they can get it on R4 LE months ago.

Then make a thread/bump the 'Spirited Away' thread (if there's one) in the 'Trailers on DVD' section.
