these are good with comparing DVD from different regions....

the reason some DVD titles in Germany are better is that they release it later than in USA RC1. Usually DVD in USA are always released ahead and then RC2 6 months later ....but the wait usually results in a full version DVD with 2 DVD and bonuses.

Memento LE is the normal edition here in Germany , this is because we never had the normal release (single disc) of the DVD, just now but already a 2 Disc....

Another reason Why the Braveheart is 2 disc is that it has the German and English 5.1 and also a commentary by Mel Gibson..... and trailers and bonuses on the 2nd disc

hehehe, same here Mischa... just back from Ljubljana (Laibach in German) where I watch RESIDENT EVIL (COOL; 4 out of 5)... & then I go to BUILDING OF FUN shop & I see this double DVD. the price was really cheap, so I must buy it (I buy it after 21h, so I got also 10% off - COOL!)... ;)

p.s. I pay around 18 EUros (regular price was around 20 EUros).

p.s.s. here we have Tolars (price was 4599 Tolars - 10%), not EUros. ;)

OK, hardly wait to see (sadly last year in don't went to Croatia/Zagreb to see them; ticket price was really expensive & I don't have money that time)... so I will hopefully enjoy this one... :D

OK I've watched the first disk. Pictures good, but the sound while it is clear is only in 2.0 surround. I was hoping for 5.1. Still getting a six disk set with 24 classic episodes on isn't half bad for £40. So I can't complain.
Oh and yes it is in wide screen.

If possible, get the Collector's Edition DVD, and enjoy it in anamorphic widescreen..the way it is truly meant to be seen. Marvel at the incredible scenery, the taught direction, the excellent atmosphere, the sweat inducing, gag reflex activating, and everything else that makes this movie great.

no its not..... they dont have Criterion Collection in Germany or Region 2....

this is actually the 3rd release of Armageddon (Special Edition) DVD in germany.. we always complianed of the crappy version Buena Vista was giving us, so last summer they released another "3rd version" of Armageddon, having the same bonuses as the Criterion and the Picture is "PAL anamorphic"...which even the Criterion Collection is not..its non anamorph :P

I don't have my own credit card becouse I don't have constant money flow... and my mother don't want to lend me credit card to buy over Internet (even if I always pay what I buy) until some preoders are shipped (end of december - BTTF trilogy)

Weird and uncommon thing is that this Queen DVD was cheaper in our local store than on internet (+ shipping).

hehehehe-- coz I live in Europe and we have Region 2 DVDs... some titles are ahead of Region 1 US .. but most of the time R1 dvds are always ahead =p

There's a bit more character development in the director's cut; I took notice that they add new angles to Jason Lee's character. There's a few more scenes with the new manager, Jimmy Fallon, and there's a funny scene where Stillwater has a radio interview with Kyle Gass (of Tenacious D) as a stoned-out-of-his-gourd DJ. I haven't decided if it's better or not, but it's still really good, and the watching for the new scenes make it interesting to watch.

24 is an excellent show. You should not be disappointed when you're finished. And it's gonna be closer to 1200 minutes of watching. (Each episode's an hour long);)
