It's a great film, radstar! IMO you should definitely sit through it .. you won't be disappointed! I could go on about it but suffice to say that I'd consider this one an absolute 'must-view'.

I'd really like to see it released on DVD!! I picked up a 2-VHS set at Wal-Mart recently for $3.88 (can't even buy blank tapes for that price around here). I hear that Spielberg's been interviewing Holocaust survivor's (apparently, as many as 10,000+) to perhaps include on an SE DVD!?

BTW, it's Schindler's List :)

Great film, but couldn't watch it over and over again.

You should see it, but unless you have so much money that you can afford to have one of those DVD collections that contains great movies that you won't ever want to see more than once a decade don't bother buying the DVD.

Finally, to respond to you last comment. I personally don't think this is the best thing Speilberg's ever directed. It's very good and makes the list among his best. But Raiders and Jurassic Park were two films that are at the top of their genres. Just because the Academy doesn't give something a "Best Director" nomination doesn't mean that it wasn't great. People often think that it Schindler's List has better direction than, say, Raiders because it was emotionally more powerful. I don't think that should necessarily be the case.

Sorry about the rant...enjoy the film Radstar.

We watched this movie for history class because of its significance and its heartstopping reality and accuracy. It's one for the library. It's even on my top twenty.

Huh? I thought I've posted a reply. Where's it gone to???

Okay, here's my suggestion again:

Watched the movie in one go. Do not stop or pause tape even if you're totally bored. After the end credits, then you can decide whether you like it or not.

BTW I didn't see Schindler's List in theater. (It came out during the Second Dark Age of editman's movie-going experieces - I had a big year at school and a GF. So I didn't see too many movies around that time.) It's until a family friend came by with a rental tape asking for a dup, that's how I got my first chance to see it.

When it was on free-to-air TV (which I taped) it was shown with no commercial break, probably the first in Aussie TV history.

So you see this movie requires to be seen/watched with no breaks, or the emotional momentum will be lost.
