    First five minutes of Elektra!

This is no joke. It's posted on Yahoo! Because of the treat, I don't really want to post a direct link....

    Question Yahoo Vegas world premiere

Does anyone know how to either save this to your HD, or make a direct link to it?

    Thanks.

    Thanks Editman!

Thanks for the info. How do you do that? How can I create my own links for Yahoo clips in the future?

Writing it for the 4th time...I think...

    Ok, here we go again:

How to Save Yahoo! Windows Media Trailers 101 (modified with diagrams! :big grin: )

    1. You need a Netscape browser and Net Transport to start off with. If you don't have any of those, try to get them first.

    2. Open your Netscape browser and go to the Yahoo clip list page

    3. Click on the link to the Yahoo! trailer provided at top of the page.

    4. Right click anywhere in the pop-up window except the actual Windows Media frame. Select "View Page Info" and the Page Info pop-up should open. (See diagram)

    3. Go to the Media tab, under the address column find the link which begins like this:

    (abridged)]

Usually the Type for the link in 'Embed', as shown in diagram.

    4. select the URL in the "address" window. Press Ctrl-C to copy the link.

    5. Go to Net Transport, download the copied link. You will then download a ASX or ASP (or whatever extension it is) called "buildlist". Open it in the Notepad and you will find another URL in the file. Something like this:

    http://global-playlist.yahoo.com/mak...0ob7ep41edec75

    6. Copy this URL. Once again download it with Net Transport.

    7. You will then download a ASX/DLL file (or whatever extension it is) called "makeplaylist". Usually Net Transport will automatically DLing the WM file as well. In case it doesn't, open the "makeplaylist" in the Notepad and
you will find the direct link to the WM file of the Yahoo! trailer. Copy it and download it with Net Transport.

    8. That's it, class. Some day (probably before I leave for good), we'll discuss our favoruite topic: the female anatomy. Until then, this is Mr Editman saying 'Goodbye class...'

Yes it's a cumbersome process but at least it's a surekill.

The trick is that you need a Netscape browser (of which the installer can be DLed free from Netscape's site).

I'm seriously considering to make everyone life's easy and start a new thread with all the direct link methods (Apple, Yahoo, iFilm. @Apple spies: Just don't expect iTune ya bloody smarta**es. Over my dead body!)

    Mucho thanks!

Thanks for the great documentation. Maybe the group should make a 'sticky' with all the direct link methods? :big grin:
