It is very hard for me to decide on my favorite JC movie.
It is hard becuase of the fact that he writes and directs very good
movies (obviously I am not counting Pirahna II in this bunch).
All in all though I would have to say that these are my absolute
    favorites of Cameron's movies:

ALIENS (Both Editions but mostly the SE)
    TERMINATOR 1 & 2 (Both Editions on 2)
    TRUE LIES
    THE ABYSS (SE only)

I kind of like everything in TITANIC except for the love story.
I just felt that it could have been a lot better.

Streetpreacher! Nice! I was just thinking that when I saw this thread... I like Strange Days more than any movie he's actually directed! But if I had to choose, I'd say #1: T2 #2: True Lies (really stupid movie but I find myself watching it again and again, unlike Titanic, which is just plain stupid)

Here a bit of trivia picked up from IMDB -
Wrote a screenplay for the first Spider-Man movie, but was turned down by the studios, due to the fact that his version of Spider-Man was "too violent". Sam Raimi's version got the green light instead.
Anyway my favorite Cameron movie is The Abyss. This movie is one of his strongest for character development.

    Also did a little research:

A few James Cameron directed movies -

    Titanic (1997) - $1,835,300,000 (Worldwide)
    True Lies (1994) - $364,300,000 (Worldwide)
    Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) - $514,800,000 (Worldwide)
Abyss, The (1989) - $54,222,000 (USA) - worldwide not availible
    Aliens (1986) - $180,000,000 (worldwide)
Terminator, The (1984) - $38,019,031 (USA) - worldwide not availible

Total Box off gross - (non-adjusted for inflation)
    = $2,986,641,031 US -

Interseting for reference sake - source: www.the-numbers.com

Steven Speilberg directed movies US gross - $3,223,585,018
George Lucas directed movie US gross -$1,309,272,429

I hate to say Titanic, not the wimpy girly Romance story, but the whole enviroment was like really looking at 1912. Like it wasn't a movie but a window back in time.

I liked Piranha 2. I didn't even know it was James Cameron. How about that, learning all the time.

The Terminator movies are instant classics, and Aliens is a great sequel to the original although it is more of an action movie than horror.

    1.T2
    2.Aliens
    3. Titanic(apart from Di Caprio)
    4. True Lies

Some of the greatest films in cinema history have been made by this genius me think
In the year of our Lord 1314
    patriots of Scotland
    starving and outnumbered
    charged the fields at Bannockburn
    They fought like warrior poets
    They fought like Scotsmen
    And won their freedom
