New Tomb Raider movie: Tears of the Dragon
Tomb Raider III is a Go!, but Lara's third silver screen incursion might not be quite what you're expecting. Gone is the 100 million dollar budget, a leading Academy Award winning actress and enough pyrotechnics to ignite the Eastern Block, and in their place stands Valerie Perez, star of Tears of the Dragon - a low-budget fan-film shot with panache and enough bottled passion to elevate an army.
While on the trail of an ancient dragon artifact, Lara crosses paths with crime boss son Chen Li with whom she has unfinished business.
Filming will conclude in March and pic will debut Summer 2005.

Hm, why in hell isnīt Angelina Jolie brought back to cast? "Tomb Raider" without Angelina is like bread without butter. But weīll have to wait, after this short teaser you canīt say much...

aha that's will be a bad movie..;without anjelina jolie

Angelina Jolie hardly helped the Tomb Raider movies. With or without her, they still suck.
-
They should use the brightness like on the first pic - so you can't see the difference between the actresses

An improved version of the teaser + a new one (12 & 8 MB). The links are here:

I'm having trouble with the MPEG-4 versions, but the WMV versions work, just click on the links (because for some reason, when I try to DL them with GetRight, I get redirected to another URL... ).Last edited by Lafce; 12-18-2006 at 08:15 PM.

I don't know if I like this idea or not. It does however look promising. In a direct-to-dvd kinda way.. LOL

hey guys and gals,
Nick Murphy here, writer/director of Tears of the Dragon.
Thanks for your honesty and support, the fans keep us going on this end.
Cause truthfully, we never thought it would ever get this big and we always intended it to be a fan film.
I've come up here to answer a few questions that may have led to some confusion on this here board.....
1.) AJ is not in our movie cause this movie is not a hollywood movie, it's a fan film. Bascially what a fan film is, its a group of people who get together and make a parody, trailer or serious flick about something they like, this can range from anything to Batman, to Tomb Raider, to small kittens with mutant powers....it's all about having fun and hoping other people enjoy it...fan films are made with little to no cash flow....
B.) This movie costs no money, we know that, and that's part of the reason it's so cool to make...if we had all the money in the world, we could just throw some money at the creative problems and make them go away....
3a.) Lara is many different things to different people, some folks think that AJ is Lara, cause all they've seen are the flicks....some tend to remember the traditional Lara and focus more on those hot spokesmodels that played her at various Cons and Gaming Expos....we aren't trying to deviate anything, this is just our version of Lara the character....not Lara the movie star....they've had diff. Bonds, various people have thier faves on that one too....
Also, I really appreciate the direct to DVD compliment...no seriously...the only reason this is going to premiere at ONE THEATER is to show it off to the hard working cast and crew and freinds of the cast and crew, we aren't going nationwide with it or anything....direct to DVD statement means big things to us, cause I think our budget is like, 5 or 6 bucks or something ! But we don't plan a direct to DVD thing right now either.....
Thanks again for the honesty and support and I hope you guys enjoy the finished project when all is said and done....
Take it easy,
Nick
