It is truly amazing how fast THE MATRIX crew is closing down here in Sydney, Australia; crates as big as some NYC apartments are being filled with all the many physical "things" that make up a year long shooting schedule. Amidst wrapping and packing and shipping, TheMatrix.com team continues to prepare updates. Among them, The Animatrix preview trailer. For those following the Breaking News closely, yes, we did use the noncommittal term "shortly" to announce the online release of this preview trailer. This could not be helped, as a specific definition of "shortly" reads: an imprecise near-future date, which allows for time-delaying snafus to crop up (which in this case was legal clearances).

The latest release schedule is far more precise:

This first preview trailer is roughly 30 seconds. It is designed to let those unfamiliar with The Animatrix learn of the project's existence, and find out that all nine episodes will be released on DVD and video. For those following The Animatrix for some time, this news does not negate the planned online release of many of the episodes @ TheMatrix.com.

BTW: for fun 1 DL-it all 4 versions (240, 320, 480, 640). well, up to 480 works fine, but 640 version is not running smooth on my XP PRO-Celeron 500/TNT2 16MB. if a got a money...

Here is a link to all the guy's work. So that's the stuff you had there, plus Final Fantasy TSW, Final Fantasy IX, Pasasite Eve and a Final Fantasy related project that seems to still be in progress. Really really great stuff.

Now that I think of it, yes - that is the only thing to be desired: A big screen release. Perhaps before Matrix 2 & 3? lol. A year with 3 Matrix movies on the big screen. THAT would be great

Mostly likely cinemas wil have movie marathons and play all 3 Matrix movies in one session. They did that with Star Wars when the SE came out. I remember when Face/Off first hit the big screen so they put on The Rock/Conair/ Face/Off in one session. Damn... that was a great session.

Do they have Movie Marathons(3 or 4 movies in a row) at the cinemas other than Australia?

I have problems with the 640 version too. I'll have to DL 480 version, if it works as you say.

jep, they did that with Star Wars also here in Slovenia (not been there)...
