I have been hearing that rumor for years. I think I first heard it back when the details for Brosnan's first movie, Goldeneye, were still be worked out.

The rumor I heard at the time was that Connery would not only be the villian, but the villian would be Bond's long-lost father.

aha I asked around and the translation I remembered is from Polish, it's certainly a French-origin word but "szyfr" means like a vault combination or a "code"

so lol, not that it matters but we'll find out in the film

Polish "szyfr" can be also a number But yes, you have right, we take french word "le chiffre" and make polish "szyfr".

According to the book Casino Royale by Ian Fleming, "Le Chiffre" has several aliases, including "The Number" and "Cypher."

Just thought I would throw that out.

I'm actually reading the book now (well, not right this moment), but I haven't gotten very far in it yet. I have read it before, but I don't remember it.

Wow, this slipped in under the radars! Hopefully, it's an official poster, because it's pretty damn cool.

This is the biggest and best quality so far.
