Minority Report DVD December 17
http://www.comingsoon.net/
Variety reports that although Minority Report was just released to theaters a few months ago, the DVD version of Steven Spielberg's summer action hit starring Tom Cruise has been in the works for nearly two years.
In what is becoming more common on major theatrical productions, Spielberg's Video Premiere Award-winning DVD producer Laurent Bouzereau (Universal's The Birds) was given full access to the set of "Report" from the first day of filming, says the trade. Bouzereau chronicled the production shooting hundreds of hours of high-def video that results in more than an hour of featurettes on specific areas of filmmaking that include original interviews with Spielberg, Cruise and a handful of other Academy Award-winning filmmakers.
DreamWorks will release Minority Report on DVD and VHS on Dec. 17, backed by a multimillion-dollar marketing campaign. Part of that campaign involves a cross-promotion with Activision, which is releasing a videogame version of the movie that will include a trailer for the DVD. Likewise, a trailer for the videogame will be featured on the DVD..

just an update
http://www.dvdfile.com/software/dvd-...002/09_18.html
Hot of its hit theatrical run earlier this summer, DreamWorks has just announced a 12/17 street date for Steven Spielberg's Minority Report. Relatively rare for a big Spielberg summer film, this one is making a quick trip to home video, and will come in two flavors: separate widescreen and pan & scan versions, both two-disc sets. Each release will feature Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround tracks, and a second disc with over an hour of new featurettes on the making of the film - two years in the making - all shot on hi-def video by longtime Spielberg producer Laurent Bouzereau. The disc will also include extensive still galleries, production notes, filmographies, trailers and TV spots (but as with all Spielberg titles, no audio commentary). There is no set price for either release, but MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) is $19.95. Stay tuned for the full press release, due later this week...

Spielberg once said that he will never make audio commentary to any of his movies....

he siad that it distances the audience from the movie, thats why the Indy Jones DVD are taking so loong to make because G. Lucas is trying to make S. Spielberg make an audio commentary together...
notice no DVD of S. Spielberg movies have any commentary.. he does not want....

btw.... this was shot in super35, is it possible the 4:3 edition will be a full-frame version, containing more picture info [cf. Abyss, T2, Usual Suspects etc]?
but anyways... this movie was shown in the movie theater in widescreen and not TV ratio...so even if the fullscreen DVD has more info..... the original theatrical version is the valid version :big grin:
