I loved "A Scanner Darkly" last year. I watched a lot of rented movies last year, didn't see many in the theaters. I finally saw Pan's Labyrinth, though, that was good, hope it's nominated for best sound.

I hate how they always nominate the giant blockbuster sound movies for sound instead of the nicely put together well-balanced sound movies. I understand it's because the sound has more to sell when it's a matter of explosions and car chases, but I've seen that sound job a million times and I don't get how they can nominate films with wall to wall music for their sound editing. Oh well.

You mislead sound editing with sound mixing. Explosions and car chases - that's mixing.
