    Zodiac (New David Fincher Film)

After Se7en, the Game, and Fight Club, I was ready to anoint Fincher as the next great filmmaking god. Panic Room came out and really let me down. Not to say that it was bad, but it just wasn't in the same stratosphere.

Now I read that Fincher has signed on to make a movie about the Zodiac killer. This is really harsh subject matter as the murders were very brutal, and this is not fictional like Se7en was. Throw in the fact that the killer was never captured, and you have a formula for a very unsettling movie.
Quote from a letter sent to the newspaper from the killer "ONLY ONE THING WAS ON MY MIND. MAKING HER PAY FOR ALL THE BRUSH OFFS THAT SHE HAD GIVEN ME DURING THE YEARS PRIOR. SHE DIED HARD. SHE SQUIRMED AND SHOOK AS I CHOCKED HER, AND HER LIPS TWICHED. SHE LET OUT A SCREAM ONCE AND I KICKED HER IN THE HEAD TO SHUT HER UP. I PLUNGED THE KNIFE INTO HER AND IT BROKE. I THEN FINISHED THE JOB BY CUTTING HER THROAT. I AM NOT SICK. I AM INSANE. BUT THAT WILL NOT STOP THE GAME."

I guess it's OK for me to start getting exited now.

Yeah, I think that's fanmade teaser poster. There's no name of cinematographer here and... I don't know.. I haven't seen on any poster sentence - "this movie is not yet rated". Maybe I'm wrong?

Anybody know what's up with this?

    http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=zodiac

I saw it on the main page and got so exited that the Zodiac trailer was finally out. When I opened it I was majorly deflated.

I hate it when news of a project gets out and every hack director races to make the same film and be the first to release it. What's weird about this is I saw a documentary about Zodiac at the video store a few months ago as well. It's strange the amount of interest in this suddenly.

Well I hope this one won't create any bad opinions for Fincher's great film.

    I'm really digging that poster.
You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.

The New York Times article about the production. I really enjoyed reading it.

and there are some early reviews:

Hollywood Elsewhere - I got pretty exited after reading this one
    Emanuelle Levy
    Miami Herald.com

I will have to wait for it till May 11th (possible Polish release date )
