...a Rat Problem?!?



28 years of living in Houston, Texas and I have never seen a rat in any of the apartments I'd ever lived in; including one of my very first apartment in the 80s which was a $165/month dump!!

It's true but it has to do with the idiots that mange those places. The sanitation standards at fast food places in NYC are horrible and pretty much every New Yorker knows this. There are exceptions (especially Wendy's) but generally those places are to be avoided.

Moreover the Village is a horrible horrible place with the poor gay artist scene reflected in everything around there. Manhattan has a gigantic subway system, in that area there's roughly a dozen different trains and they're all in 100 year old tunnels so there are rats there.

There's no rats in apartments, at least not in any I've been in. Homes are pretty well kept in NYC and as long as you exercise some common sense you shouldn't be running into any rats at any restaurant. Just in case ask a local about these places and they'll tell you all about it.
