He is guilty of robbing a bank, not defrauding a Casino or embezzling money to support a gambling addiction!!

What does buying a lottery ticket and gambling has anything to do with his crime of robbing a bank?

This is from his probation from the armed robbery.

Under terms of his probation, he "may not gamble, purchase lottery tickets or visit an establishment where gaming is conducted, including restaurants where Keno may be played."

that's what I meant: the terms of his probation are unusual unless the motive of his original crime of robbing a bank was to support a gambling addiction but the article doesn't mention it...
