Yay for:
- Katyn
- Janusz Kaminski
- every Paul Thomas Anderson nomination
- and all Transformers nominations
-
This has got to be one of the worst years ever for nominations. Its getting really tiring to see all these low budget films nominated just because they have some special story or something. I had hoped that this was all going to change when the Lord of the Rings one for best picture, but apparently it hasn't.

I'm surprised Keira Knightley and James McAvoy didn't get nominated for Atonement and Ben Affleck didn't get a Best Director nomination for Gone Baby Gone
-
well, if he directs anything like he acts.... im not surprised.
most of the films that came out last year were very lack-luster for me. not saying that there were not good movies last year, but very few really made me want to see them in the theater.
on another note, wtf is the difference between 'sound mixing' and 'sound editing' and how in the heck does someone 'achieve' in it ?"I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone …
but they've always worked for me,"
Hunter S.Thompson

I thought for some reason Spider-Man3 was going to get a nomination for visual effects
but it didn't so go Transformers kick everyones butt

Pretty good show. Only real surprise in the major catergories was Tilda Swinton winning. One thing I'm surprised at was the fact that they didn't have clips from the best picture shown.
You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.

I can agree with almost all choices. Great that Marianelli win best music, Bourne 3 Oscars, and Juno screenplay.
