    Before "The Professional"

    Someone help an old lady with a failing memory. I am looking for a title of a movie about a woman who saved a little girl from the mob, after hitmen took out little girl's family for the mob. I believe the woman was a neighbor, and the hitmen may have been cops. Possibly an 80's movie? I appreciate any help anyone can offer.

    Nothing comes to my mind except for Gloria but in the version from 1980 she saves a little boy. In the version from 1999 she saves a girl.
