    The Film

    Based on the life of legendary 16th century ninja and bandit Ishikawa Goemon, which is scheduled to wrap in November, but don’t get in line for the movie just yet. The film may be wrapping up, but the “fantasy actioner” won’t be available until March 2009. Why so long? Probably because there is a lot of CGI to be done on the film even after principal photography. It comes from visionary filmmaker Kazuaki Kiriya, who a few may recognize from a 2004 film called Casshern. Kiriya uses some sort of beautiful combination of CGI and live-action stunt work to make a film that looks like a full length video game cinematic.
