Rumored for some time, Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that their upcoming Christopher Nolan bat-finale, The Dark Knight Rises, will receive a special prologue before select IMAX screenings of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol beginning December 16th. Details of the event are listed below in the official press release along with a list of the 42 locations that will be offering the six-minute opening:
Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” — the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy — is one of the most anticipated films of 2012, but moviegoers won’t have to wait until next year to see the six-minute opening sequence of the film. The film’s prologue will be unveiled exclusively in select 70mm IMAX® theatres worldwide. The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
The Prologue will be released in North America on December 16, and in the UK on December 21, 2011. Additional international dates vary by territory and will be announced soon.
In making the 2008 blockbuster “The Dark Knight,” Nolan was the first to use IMAX® cameras in a major motion picture release, and, as now, audiences were given an advance look at that film’s prologue months prior to the Summer 2008 opening. Nolan employed the extremely high-resolution cameras even more extensively on “The Dark Knight Rises”—including the film’s prologue—to achieve unprecedented crispness and clarity and a truly immersive experience for the moviegoers.
Christopher Nolan stated, “Our experience on ‘The Dark Knight’ shooting and projecting IMAX 15 perf 65mm/70mm film was inspiring. The immersive quality of the image goes beyond any other filmmaking tool available, and in revisiting Gotham, we were determined to shoot even more of the movie in this unique format. Giving the fans an early look at an IMAX sequence is a great way to draw attention to what I believe will be an incredible way to experience our story when it comes out next summer.”

From SCIFIwire - Concerns about Bane's voice
With a new trailer dropping this week and the prologue hitting theaters last Friday, excitement for The Dark Knight Rises has never been higher. But some viewer complaints about Bane's garbled voice have Warner Bros. executives worried, and Christopher Nolan isn't helping.
The footage itself—from both the prologue and the trailer—has basically been declared universally badass, but some fans are complaining that Bane's mask makes it too hard to follow his dialogue. He only has one featured line in the trailer ("When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die," in case you didn't catch it), but he's much more active in the prologue, and it's led to more than a few viewer jokes.
"The Dark Knight Rises prologue was really great, especially when Bane spoke the soon-to-be-classic line: 'Mmrbl ffrmrff hmrbblfmm,'" one fan wrote on Twitter.
Executives at Warner Bros. are well aware of both the jokes and the genuine fan concerns, and it's got them worried that Rises won't pull in the same kind of cash that The Dark Knight did. One source told The Hollywood Reporter that he's "scared to death" about what he's termed "the Bane problem," and that Nolan isn't making matters any better.
Because of the massive success of The Dark Knight and Inception, Nolan has a lot of creative pull at Warner Bros., so much that he's informed executives he's only planning to alter the sound mix very slightly, despite requests from the studio to drastically change it to clear up Bane's voice.
"Chris wants the audience to catch up and participate rather than push everything at them. He doesn't dumb things down," an anonymous high-level exec said. "You've got to pedal faster to keep up."
Nolan has said in the past that he believes the audience doesn't necessarily need to understand every single line, as long as they get the idea of the scene. He's in the midst of editing the flick now and likely won't have any form of finished product to show Warner Bros. bigwigs for another couple of months. In the meantime, the pressure could build to a point that he has to make a decision on Bane's voice. Our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us. - Matthew Mcconaughey - Interstellar
Any ideas when the Prologue will be officially released?

He's really going political with that new poster j7wild ... I don't think he wanted it to look good, I think he wanted to convery "revolution:
Dark Knight film franchise fans are pathetic.
They can't take any negative criticism toward the film franchise and they think their poop don't stink and everyone needs to agree with their opinion of the films.
I have posted a I Won't See This thread at IMDB and all the whiny, insecure, Dark Knight fans are out of the woodwork bashing me.
They think their opinion is Gold and they are God and I am not entitled to my opinion.
What are they going to do now?
Nolan says this is the last Dark Knight film!
How will the Dark Knight fans live on for the rest of their lives without any more new Dark Knight movies?

Seriously, why do you even care, did Batman beat you up when you were a kid, or do you just get off infuriating people for fun?
You tell me?, it's a Fan Base, either you like it or not, Batman will live on way longer than you will.
And for the record, i'm not biased either since I really don't care much about Superhero movies, unless you consider "Kick-Ass" in that category.
