UPDATES

Further to earlier stories in Cinebuzz: Steven Soderbergh has won his bum battle for his upcoming sci-fi movie, Solaris. George Clooney’s twice-glimpsed bare behind will now go on show with the lesser US rating of PG-13, rather than an R that was previously given to the film.
It may be Ian McKellen, not Christopher Lee, who will replace Richard Harris as Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series. McKellen, of course, also has the key role of the wizard, Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings movies. And Halle Berry’s character, Jinx, in the James Bond flick, Die Another Day could get her own movie series playing that character. It would be the first spin-off from the 007 films since they began in 1962.

IT’S THE WOLF, MAN!

Could the werewolf be making the next big movie comeback? Brotherhood of the Wolf, which opens at selected cinemas in Australia next week, is - among other things - a kind of werewolf thriller. Wes Craven is teaming up again with screenwriter Kevin Williamson for Cursed, which takes a new look at the genre, and Angelina Jolie will star in Bitten, about a female werewolf. Don’t be surprised if these are just the first of a pack of new movies about moon howlers.
