Don't like baseball much but must say am throughly happy the Yankees got stomped!
I read that just two yankee players make enough money PER YEAR combined to equal the ENTIRE rangers payroll.

Rangers are down 2-0 in the 6th inning of Game 4!!
Man! If they lose tonight, it's pretty much over!
They will be down 3-1 in the series and there is no way they can win the next 3 games straight to win the World Series!

I must admit, I have a hard time trying to decide who to root for in this series. On the one hand, Texas (and before them, the Washington Senators, founded in 1961 before moving to Texas in 1972) has never been in a World Series before. On the other hand, the Giants haven't won a World Series since they moved to San Francisco in 1958. So either way you look at it, both teams have been waiting a long time.
I must admit, though, I was hoping for Texas to win. I guess it is because the franchise has never won a post-season series before this year. Or maybe it is because they have Josh Hamilton.

Nope, sorry. Next year will be the Cincinnati Reds' turn.
Still, congrats to the Texas Rangers for making it as far as they did. I don't think anyone expected the Rangers to be in the World Series when this season started.
And congrats to the San Francisco Giants for winning the World Series for the first time since 1954.

It was San Francisco's first time winning the series. The last time the Giants won the World Series (1954, which was against the Cleveland Indians), the Giants were still in New York. The team moved to San Francisco in 1958.
(On a side note, I didn't realize that in 1957, New York had three baseball teams... the Giants, now in San Francisco, the Brooklyn Dodgers, now in Los Angeles, and, of course, the Yankees, still in New York. The Mets didn't come along until 1962.)
