Interesting...I thought a scene looked familiar.

From Blastr: Did Ender's Game trailer reuse footage from a different film?

Not Uncommon, as a matter of coincidence, The film "Capone" which I just posted the VOB's, actually shares footage with the "St. Valentines Day Massacre" movie from 1967, namely the actual footage of the massacre.
Roger Corman directed "Massacre" and was a producer for "Capone", so he figured why not....
Obviously we are talking Corman movies here, but I don't see why this would not be done for higher budget films as well.
Same applies to props and sets, I can't even count the times I've seen the same things show up in numerous films, after all most people would not even catch any of this under normal viewing.

I can't see through walls, but I can kick your ass.

Actually, this begs a question on trailer design. While scenes from other movies are reused in trailers specifically, when they are reused does this mean they will or will not appear in the movie?

That's an an easy one, nothing that's in a trailer is guaranteed to be in the actual final cut of the release. Numerous trailers feature scenes and soundtracks that never make it past the trailer for various reasons.
In this case it's very probable that they needed this particular scene to convey the storyline and the scene they were working on was not ready, so they improvised.
