The film captures the life of Master Fumio Demura, the man that's influenced a bevy of Hollywood’s elite over the last 50 years. Those talents include Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, Steven Seagal and many more. It was the stunt double role that he landed in The Karate Kid, and the friendship he formed with actor, Pat Morita, that would forever change his life. Whether you are a martial artist or even a fan of the martial arts you would be hard pressed to find someone that does not love the original Karate Kid film. For anyone in the know, Pat Morita was not a martial artist, but his portrayal of the Miyagi character not only got him a best supporting actor nod, but cemented the character as one the most iconic in film history. This would not have been possible had it not been for Master Demura. This film not only takes you on a behind the scenes journey to that iconic film, but that through this man’s life. As big as that film is, that is just a drop in the bucket to what this incredible man has accomplished. This film showcases tons of interviews from countless martial artists including Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren, Pat Johnson, Billy Blanks, TJ Storm, Michael Jai White, tons of his students and family expressing their clear love, respect and influences he has had on them. In addition there is the man himself who appears throughout the film in not only interviews both old and new, but tons of archive footage showing him in action both in martial arts and interacting with those around him. These days everyone looks at MMA, tricking or the flashy martial arts show, but in this documentary you get a chance to witness true martial arts executed with not only precision and perfection, but with the flair only Master Demura possesses.
