From Guy Ritchie?
With Cavill?
This is going to sucks!
If Robert Vaughn was 6 feet under right now, he would be rolling in his grave!

Not impressed with the first trailer, I fully understand that there was a substantial amount of British influence in the origins and character development of the original TV series, but this rendition reminds me more of "The Avengers" than anything else.
It's definitely not on my most anticipated list, at least until we get more to look at.

I like Guy Ritchie's earlier style of filming. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels was enjoyable and quirky.
The more he started doing American commerical blockbusters, the more he's strayed from his original quirky style.
Like Jackie Chan filmmaking in Hong Kong vs. filmmaking in USA. The difference is drastic.
The Sherlock Holmes films were definitely enjoyable for me. I had to keep reminding my self it that it was Guy Ritchie.
I'm curious to see how his styles and methods changed for this one.
Watching the trailer, all the camera jumps are probably just trailer editing so can't really tell how Ritchie's final work will look like.

Apart from "Swept Away" which we wont discuss, all his other films were "British" in essence, which he is brilliant at.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was closer to "Our Man Flint" and it might just be me, but having a British heavy male lead cast, and the sole American playing a Russian, is not exactly a recipe for success to portray such an iconic american TV series. Hopefully he can prove me wrong.

Wow!
Jacques didn't scold me for complaining about a movie based on just a movie trailer?
There really is a first time for everything!
I liked the first Sherlock Holmes movie.
I didn't like the second. I found it messy and unevenly edited and poorly paced and noisy!
Ritchie really hasn't done anything great since his British movies.
Maybe he will redeem himself and go back to his British root with this next movie:

Except I am already questioning why is there an African actor in a movie adaptation of Le Morte d'Arthur?
