The Good Dinosaur Studio Encode Blurry

I wonder why the (235.4Mb) version's quality is so bad? Even the Apple encode is better, usually the studio encode would be the best not? =S
The size of it is big, but the picture quality is so blurry compare to the others.

Is anyone else finding that the Studio Encode is blurry as opposed to the others?

@iszac87, to answer the question, the quality should be somewhat better, at minimum equivalent, it's all the same master files being used. The Apple 1080p encode is 166Mb v. 235Mb, these days that's not much of a difference.

I can't see through walls, but I can kick your ass.

At first I thought it was my computer problem, but then I tried to played on another computer, it resulted the same.
You could notice the significant differences especially the part where show the white text and black background, the other encode quality is sharp, while the studio one is rather blurry, it's odd though. =(

    @iszac87

I'm not saying you're wrong, I personally don't see it, but I don't have a super High end system either.
There are many factors to consider, if the consensus agrees with your findings, then I can re-encode another set since it's very time consuming.

In the meantime, you can enjoy the Disney MP4's or the Apple Encode, but thanks for letting me know.

The studio encode looks more aliased than the Apple encode, imo.
    The jagged/stairs on the lettering.
    (quick and dirty job)

The aliasing makes it look blurry.
There's one scene where they're running past trees and the overheard view, mixed with the aliasing makes the natural movement of the tree leaves look very alien (even though it's millions of years ago lol).

There's less artefacting on the studio encode, however.
The shot where the dinosaurs watch the comet fly by looks better than the Apple encode.

This movie looks like it's going to be compeletly heartbreaking to watch, just like The Croods.
I'm going to be a nervous wreck watching it, dreading every moment right after a nice, happy moment!

    @spaktank

Thanks, this one is actually at 23.97Fps instead of 24Fps, maybe that's what the issue was when I went to 24Fps, who knows?
I'll redo this one and see if it gets corrected.

    I largely suspect: yes.

There was one shot that didn't look smooth when the dinosaur was running. There was some judder to it.
My first thought was that the FPS was converted.
It's very likely that was what happend going from 23 to 24.

I hand't checked MediaInfo before, but here is the Studio FPS details:
    Frame rate : 23.976 fps
Minimum frame rate : 23.810 fps
Maximum frame rate : 43.478 fps

OK, this one had a ProRes available, which I used instead of the DVCPRO 100, went back to 24Fps, and tweaked the sound a bit. Let me know if this is better.
The weight increased slightly, but hopefully for the better.

    Much, much improved!

Even the banding around the sun for the very first shot is gone.

    Was the DVCP100 interlaced?
I remember some studios released 1080i trailers. That one Mad Max Fury Road trailer was 1080i that they had up before they replaced it with encodes.
Like it was encoded @29.97 interlace.

    Thanks for the replacement.

Not too sure, never really looked at it since I do perform de-interlacing as a standard process.
Again, I tweaked several things, so I guess I'll keep this configuration until something else screws up.
