Many of these recent action films are making Bond movies look Irrelevant.
Time for the action in Bond films to be brought up to the 21st Century.
-
Don't forget that the Bond character was created in the 50's, and the stories based on Ian Fleming's novels until they ran out.
So even though the movies adapted to the times for cinematic purposes, Bond is still a reflection of the original depiction in homage to Fleming's character.
The formula obviously works, box office results prove it.
After all, how many other movie franchises are there that span over 50 Years and still going strong?

I agree but too many times lately after watching another (non Bond) film and you just can't help thinking why Bond film can have this kind of action.
For instance the 2 recent M-I: films.
Bond films used to be known with each cinematic entry every 2-3 years to be the one to set the bar for action sequence and doing a stunt that other films can't and won't.
Now the action sequences are just boring.
Looking at the trailer for SPECTRE, yet another car chase in another Bond film.

Bond films are character driven, not action.
You get a little of everything of course, but apart from a few exceptions, it's a one man show.
It's simply a good mix of stuff with a PG13 rating that everyone can enjoy.
