Edinburgh short film festival 2016: Call for entries

The Edinburgh Short Film Festival is now open for submission for 2016 and we'll be screening the best in contemporary short film in Scotland's beautiful & ancient capital city in October 2016.

This year we're planning some exciting collaboration projects from working with Japan's biggest short film festival, Short Shorts Film Festival to curating short film programmes for the the Sardinia Film Festival as well as Hidden Door in May, Edinburgh's own, unique, arts festival.

In addition to that, we're working with the Rio Short Film Festival and bringing the best Rio-made shorts to Edinburgh while we're also programming shorts for their 2016 festival.
We're also keeping our fingers crossed and hoping to take short films to the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival in September and on top of all that, we're also programming for the Scots Day Out festival in Australia in February! We're pretty much coast to coast this year!

If that's not enough, we're also now offering the Rising Star Award for the most promising new film-maker!

Shore Scripts Short Film Fund Submission Deadline 31st May 2016

We would like to mention a couple of good bits of news about Shore Scripts Short Film Fund.

Firstly, the dates have changed. We know that having to wait an age to find out whether you will receive funding or not for your short can be infuriating. That's why Shore have moved the FINAL SUBMISSION DEADLINE TO THE 31ST MAY!

Please note this is just for our Short Film Fund. We will announce our Winner(s) and the total fund amount on the 1st JULY.

Secondly, the lovely people at Arri Rental have kindly donated free Camera Equipment for the winning production.

So why should you enter the Short Film Fund?

    Here's why:
    • An opportunity to become a produced screenwriter - Shore will be producing at least one film with a budget of £5000.
    • A calling card - A short film will help you set up meetings with agents and production companies.
    • Shore's contacts - All Shore's Judges, Production Companies, and Agents will be sent the final film. That is over 100 of the best people working in the industry who will see your film.

Lightbulb Get Your Script Proofread @shorescripts for 2017!

Shore Scripts Adds Proofreading service to its Analysis + Development Portfolio

Writers become so close to their material that they can’t help but lose perspective at times. It happens to everyone. A professional’s feedback is paramount in helping you take your script to the next level. We offer two types of analysis:
5 Page Analysis – 5 pages of constructive notes that focus on: Premise, Structure, Character, Dialogue, Pace, Marketability, and a Conclusion. It will give you a clear overview of your screenplay.
10 Page Development Analysis – 10 pages of feedback on all areas of your screenplay, including: Premise, Structure, Character, Dialogue, Pace, Visuals, Believability, Marketability, and a Conclusion. It also includes an industry scorecard. Great for a comprehensive critique of your screenplay.

Plus, we have a new Proofreading service. It’s the most common mistake we see – poor punctuation, grammar, spelling, and formatting. No-one is going to take your script seriously if it fails because of rookie problems like this, so it’s essential that your script is proofread before sending it out into the industry. Our new proofreading service will ensure your script has the requisite polish to make it keep in on the spec pile rather than in the rejected bin!

To take advantage of this awesome opportunity submit your script: https://www.shorescripts.com/script-analysis/

With Big Thanks & Best Wishes to our 2016 Entrants!
