    yeah but we don't live on water. .. thats why the aliens stayed away from the water. Thats a poor comparison. Also says that the aliens aren't carbon based so water would be a strange element to them. It was like acid to them. Water is an alkaline for us.

    Yeah but how did they manage to get accross the universe to discover water, when they can't even open a locked door.


    Signs is a good film though. At the moment it's my number 10 of 2002, but only by default. It had quite a few plot holes, and I didn't like the ending. Same with Minority Report.

    I'd agree with Lord Of The Rings winning. It's my favourite film from last year. I'd say
    Two Towers,
    Spiderman,
    28 Days Later were the best sci fi films of last year. As long as they are included.

    maybe earth was the only other planet in the universe capable of sustaining life.
    maybe they didn't have any concept of what water was.
    maybe they only went there with the intention of destroying man.

    there are many scenarios, but we (and the humans in the movie) never found out. so you can't really call it a plot hole.
