Rising star Clive Owen (who made a name for himself in CROUPIER as well as behind the wheel as THE DRIVER for BMW's series of short films) has landed the part of KING ARTHUR. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing this new tale of the legendary English king who forged the Round Table and his army of Knights, with TRAINING DAY helmer Antoine Fuqua set to direct.

Also, in negotiations for the part of Merlin, Arthur's sage and mystical seer is Stephen Dillane (THE HOURS, SPY GAME). Fuqua's take on Camelot is supposed to be the most realistic portray of the time period and politics surrounding Arthur's reign, showing the rise of his leadership during the fall of Roman rule in ancient Britain.
