Don't know about the best settings for each Ratio but here are the correct Quicktime ratio's.
these resolutions go for the sorenson3 codec. when you encode with divx most of them aren't good for best quality.Last edited by bender; 09-06-2003 at 06:56 PM.

How to add subtitles to your trailer
Step 1-install Vob-Sub remembering to install the V-Dub filters.
Step 2-follow Marks guide but when ripping the trailer remember to rip the subtitle file too.
Step3-When you reach the V Dub Stage open up your trailer select Video, filters, add, vobsub 2.23, open, ifo and vobs for creating idx/sub, open .ifo file, select folder for subs, OK, OK, OK. Open, select the sub you just made, select colours placement language and transparency ect... to how you want. Click OK then scan through the video to see how your subs appear.
Note tick too many of the colour boxes and you'll have a big box cover your trailer. In otherwords Do not do that!!!
If you're dealing with a region 1 24fps scource, then add audio, do your filtering and you're done.
If you're dealing with a region 2 25fps scource, then do your filtering, convert the trailer to uncompressed AVI. Open new AVI in V-Dub select video direct stream copy, you can still then set it to convert to 24.000fps, do that. Add audio and convert your new Avi. Then just squeeze.

If I have subs burnt in the black bars, then I do the following steps:
1. Rip the VOB-File with Smartripper
2. Start GordianKnot. Create a Project File. Open the Project File.
3. Select ONLY the subtitles in the black bar.
4. Create an AVS File
5. Encode it (DivX).
6. Open the ProjectFile again.
7. Select ONLY the picture, without the black bars.
8. Creat an AVS File
9. Create an uncompressed file with Virtualdub.
10. Start Premiere
11. Open both files, the subs (DivX) and the uncompressed file.
12. Use transparency (and some other video-effects to position the subs in the right errrrr.. position)
13. blablabla...
(...)
Result:
VOB-File with burnt-in subtitles

Added a new "help" section.
Not much there yet... but it's meant to be very simple, for very new users.

Tight
Gota ask cause I'm a tight fisted f****er (between jobs sounds so much better than UNEMPLOYED) is there any program out there that will do the same thing as Sorenson? Or as I have geussed (feared more like) will I actually have to put my hands and pay.
