The Battle of the Sequels
Online sports book Intertops.com has made The Matrix Reloaded and The Return Of The King, the most likely to gross the highest 2003 weekend box office opening.
"With so many great film sequels scheduled for 2003, it's tough to pick a winner," said Intertops.com Chief Bet Manager Michael Maerz. "We predicted that Terminator 3 would be the sequel to beat -- but our customers think differently.
"There was so much action on both the Matrix Reloaded and The Return Of The King that it took only a matter of hours before Arnie was terminated from the top slot."
"This weekend sees the release of X-Men 2, the first of our listed sequels to go live. It will be interesting to see how this film performs," he said.
Here are the odds:
The Battle of the Sequels: Movie To Have The Highest Opening Weekend
The Matrix Reloaded 7/4
The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 13/4
X2: X-Men United 7/2
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines 7/2

2 Fast 2 Furious 8/1
American Wedding 15/1

Freddy v Jason 80/1
The Whole Ten Yards 100/1

and x2....will do pretty good cause of his pg 13 rating...

I suspect that The Matrix will have the highest opening even though X2 will deserve it a lot more.

Anyone can walk into X2. People under 17 have to have an adultr to get into Reloaded. A ****load of people under 17 go to movies. Therefore, X2 will make more money.
Are you a Mexi-CAN or a Mexi-CAN'T?

Well.. my bets go as follows
1.) Matrix 2 - Reloaded
2.) Matrix 3 - Revolutions
3.) Return of the King - LotR ]I[
4.) Hulk - this ones a sleeper me thinks. get ready for a doozy!
5.) X2
6.) T3
We can't discount how much we are going to possibly be looking forward to the Matrix in November as well. I have a feeling I just might.
RotK is just gonna be huge. Two Towers is gonna look like a cat fight compared to what we is gonna get
Hulk... oh my Hulk.... Well.. watch the international version of the trailer and count how many of the scenes have something being broken in them.
X2 is great but with Matrix Reloaded 13 days later I fear it will loose some of it's legs. Me thinks thats why it is showing on more screens worldwide than any other movie before it. ( yeh I know this record keeps getting broken but whatever)
T3 - Without Jimmy C. at the healm I had early reservations that were lifted with the international trailer.
