    ALIEN trailer attached with LXG

    <img src="http://www.movie-list.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=46055">
An industry source has notified Coming Attractions at Cinescape that 20th Century Fox will attach a trailer for the re-release of Ridley Scott's ALIEN with THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN. LXG, as the latter film has been referred to in its promotional campaign, is scheduled for release on July 11.

    Rumors of a theatrical re-release of Scott's 1979 picture

were first heard last month. Our source has heard the same news, that the film will be released again in theaters this coming Halloween. Fox has yet to make an official announcement.
    From Cinescape

Cool to see Alien back in the Cinemas.

I don't recall the Alien trailer being all that exciting. Seems strange that they would release it in theatres, as opposed to television commercials. Oh well.
If you can stay calm, while all around you is chaos...then you probably haven't completely understood the seriousness of the situation.

Is this going to be the original version of the movie that's being released, or some sort of "special edition"?
You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.

all Ridley SCott movies are directors cut ..except for Blade Runner, where he had to fight with the studio...

Its going to be sown as a Theatrical Cut, not a Director's Cut. There is a reason why its called Theatrical cut.

Well I'd love to see it with THAT SCENE put back. Of course that then makes a total mockery of the third films conclusion since the story was altered slightly from the books.

Could be the worst case scenario folks: a newly edited re-release trailer...

We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

And moviebuff: which scene are you talking about? (Sorry but I haven't watched the Alien DVD for 2-3 years now. )

well you have a point... ALien was a hunted house story in space and Aliens was a vietnam war movie in space. It is also tru and ALiens is better than the 1st movie, a very rare case in movies. But I would say Alien was a groundbreaking movie in many many aspects. THe use of a woman as the main characters of the movie, the use of unknown actors actually created a better suppense coz we never know who will die or live.

tisoy makes a good point here.. i mean who seriously can take anything seriously in movies these days where sequels are already planned like matrix.. we all KNOW that keanu is back for a third.. so noone cares about any of the situations he is placed in during the 2nd movie...

even in lord of the rings.. (having not read all the books).. i didnt care when gandolf died, it didnt have any impact at all.. cause i knew he was contracted for the rest.. and so therefore had to return in the 2nd...

As much as they are a saga, I don't classify the Aliens movies as comparable to each other, because of the very different story-telling and cinematic devices. They all have their merits...even Alien Resurrection....and i like them all for their good points....Alien scared me much more than Aliens, due to the fact their was ONE alien, who survived much MUCh longer, because the humans didn't know what to do..., rather than thousands of them and you knew that you could drop them with a couple of bullets....

I'll get the scene in Quicktime, but needless today deleting the scene changed the Aliens very nature which was why a minor change had to be done to the Alien 3 story.
