favorite and greatest movies
this question was inspired by another movie forum.
so what is your one favorite movie, if you had to narrow it down? one that you could watch over and over again and you never get tired of it...
what do you think is the greatest film ever made?
please be honest. you won't be judged.
----
favorite: Amadeus
greatest: The Godfather

your link isn't working for some reason.
anyways, i don't see why it would be hard to just type out your favorite movie. it seems like less effort than to try to direct us to your top 20.

man what a tough decision....
my favorite movie is a toss up between John Carpenter's the Thing (1982), Monty Python's Holy Grail, True Romance and Fight Club...
of course, i could sit and watch the original non special edition Star Wars Ep4 over and over again (providing i'm under the influence of something...
)
i really can not say what was the greatest movie ever made...there is too many. but my opinion would be Star Wars. i'm not saying that i am a huge star wars fan but it revolutionized and entire genre of movies and changed the way people think about science fiction movies.

My favourite movie is:
Heavy Metal (1981)
I love this movie because it was my first contact with SF movies (and with erotic on screen also :big grin: ). I was 7 at that time, and it was a revelation for me.
The all-time best IMO would be:
It's a Wonderful Life

I still have to go with 1776. It is reasonably historically accurate (aside from the singing), good story, patriotic, funny, and great characters. And the music is pretty good too.
Watching 1776 is a family tradition for around the Fourth of July, and I watch it several more times a year (just watched it Wednesday night, as a matter of fact). We first saw it on television when I was a kid and we happened to tape it. We wore the tape out before we found a retail copy of it commercial free. And then they just came out with the DVD about two years ago, which I grabbed as soon as I could.

My favourite movie is Aliens. As everyone well knows.
However for me the single greatest movie ever has to be The Hustler. I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as a 100% perfect movie yet I can not pick any faults with that movie. Flawless performances, great chemistry. Excellant camera work, with the only possible fault for some people being that the film is B+W. JNot a problem for me. A true masterpiece.

favorite film would be fight club,
greatest achievement in film a clockwork orange and metropolis.
clockwork orange, because it was very brave filmmaking, considering it was made in the early 70's. i guess without it many films in the last 30 years wouldn't have been made the way they are.
metropolis, because it's unbelievable that this was made in the 20's. similar thing as with clockwork orange, without it science-fiction would be different.somebody told me you have a boyfriend who looks like a girldfriend that i had in february of last year the killers

Favourite Movie: Star Wars: Episode 5- Empire Strikes Back
You can't beat the Hoth Battle, it beats any of the battles in the new Star Wars movies hands down - you just feel more for the characters who are fighting than even the ones in episode 2, like who cares if the dudes in episode 1 flying the naboo fighters die in the assault? BUT do you care if Wedge or Rogue 2 dies? YES.
Greatest Movie: Superman. It was just revolutionary for the time, in terms of special effects, and it was such a classic story. In a thousand years, there will be no men and women, just wankers, and that's fine by me.
