a new update, this was posted on www.toshikomi.com

Mattias Backström puts together Star Wars episodes using Legos, and the result is funny, shocking, sometimes tear-inducing, often violent - but always satisfying. Beyond that, his dioramas revisit a toy that many of us used to (still do?) play with, and uses them in a way that transcends sci-fi entertainment and special fx as we know it! I really like the way he's photographed some scenes, with a thin depth of field in some cases, to artificially enhance the look so that there is a greater perceived enormity about the recorded "events."

When you see stuff like this online, you have to pick up your cup of coffee and toast the virtues of the world wide web. Screw e-commerce, this is what life is all about! All hail Mattias!
