If I thought it was no good I would have said something like 2.5/5.I was kinda leaning towards 4/5. Maybe I should have said something like 3.85/5. Like Michalzoo said,it has a lot of heart. I just didn't care for the character from his past that brags about beating him up and all. That just seemed a bit typical to put in a movie. Almost any one could think up that role. Plus the plot is rather formulaic but has enough good moments to be enjoyable.

I knew the part about Evangeline would change your mind But seriously, it's a very decent movie, definitely worth watching. I forgot to mention great visual and sound effects.

I just updated the Evangeline thread in the GG forum.

Added new photos, fixed broken links going back 3 years, replaced some photos that no longer shows.

    The Killers (1964)

    4.5/5

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058262/

The remake of the 1946 classic film noir, this time with Lee Marvin and Clu Gulager and John Cassavetes and Angie Dickinson and Ronald Reagan (in his only bad guy role).

Originally a made for TV movie (the very first one), it was deemed too violent and released to the movie theaters.

This film contains the kind of sadism and nastiness and grittiness and violence only director Don Siegel (Dirty Harry, Invasion of the Body Snatcher, the Beguiled, Coogan;s Bluff, Madigan, Charlie Warrick and Telefon)) could deliver.

It's been said that Quentin Tarantino based the characters of John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction on Lee Marvin and Clu Gulager from this film.

I am sure Lucas had good intentions when he took on this project but

the special effects are good and that's about all there is to this film - the rest is just a recycle of every cliche and plot device and paper thin characters from every war movie we've ever seen from the dawn of celluloid til today

Lucas said this is his Swan Song to the movie business - I guess he doesn't want remembered for what he has accomplished but for what was his final film - a big flop

    2/5

I was fortunate enough to see this when it came to theaters here but it was only in town for one week. I went back the next week hoping to see it again and it was gone.

Okay, I am aware that when you watcb a movie, you need to have a willing suspension of disbelief but in this particular movie, you need to leave your brain and logic at the door.
