What wuz the most recent movie(s) you have seen?

i wanted to make a sticky thread really bad! and i thought i should do something like 'the most recent DVD you have purchased' so this could be a never ending thread just like it, you post which movie you have just seen everytime. (just like everytime you purchased a DVD)

please let me know if you think this is stupid! or a bad idea?

just saw T3 again tonite w/ my boyfriend.....

and i'm gonna make this a theater slash rental thread... if you have purchased a DVD, read above!!! hehe

    Eurotrip. :big grin:

Like I said before: one of the 2 guilty pleasures of the year.

    Two personal things:

    1) @radstar: if one day I send you a rude email saying I won't wanna talk to you again, it's cos I mistaken you as a man.

    2) gorgeous penpal blond chick from Germany met on the internet!!? Come on, get real! There's only sex maniacs in Germany!...

I saw Alien vs Predator on opening night. I thought it rocked! :big grin:

Definitely a must-see movie!!! I wish it lasted longer though. Oh well... I'm definitely gonna purchase this on DVD when it comes out.

    Thumbs up

ohh, totally forgot to mention here

on thursday I saw ALIEN VS. PREDATOR. yes, U heard it right. in cinema! premiere here in Slovenia should be in november, but one (female) person who works in KOLOSEJ complex (in capitol city Ljubljana; 56km from my town) arrange that I can see special premiere here (likely 1st copy from USA came here). it was not for public viewing, because only I & 2 other Kolosej technicians (or something) view this movie. no Slovenian subtitled, but that doesn't bother me. I enjoy it very, very much... :big grin:

4 out of 5 from my side.

Just saw Immortel (Ad Vitam), and I'm really sad I had the opportunity at one point in my life to see the trailer. This movie is total crap!!

The movie sports the same idea of Sky Captain, but with a little twist. Half the actors are real, and the other half is CGI. And we are not talking just about creatures, we are talking about human beings. Videos I have seen from Half-Life 2 show a far more higher level of detail.

The problem is, you have a scene with a real actor, a close-up scene, and you see all the rich detail of the skin, cloth, etc.. then the next frame we have another shot with a CG model that is plain as snow.

The story is not anywhere close to being decent. Think of Species and The 5th Element together. The characters are really dull, with almost no depth or development whatsover.

But to give the movie some positive, I did like the retro-look of the exterior scenes, and the makeup (not prosthetics, put these in the trash) of the lead character. The CGI of the backdrops was fine, but those CG characters ruin everything!!

However, this film could have easily been fit into a 10-minute short film. And that would've also been a stupid, unnecessay one.

    Double-bill today:

The Girl Next Door - it's actually meeting my expectation, ie not a masterpiece, but I can related to it and certainly enjoyed it (I did have two good mates at high school. alas if only my ex was a porn star ... and why am I suddenly having a deja vu?... ). I just think if it's not a comedy, the character Kelly will be much nastier.

The Bourne Suprmacy - sorry but I think it's overhyped. Too many shaky-cam close-up action shots. For a movie that's practically not much plot and action (Bourne gets framed. Bourne comes out of hiding, finds out who framed him and goes back hiding again), on a home theatre system it's a great way to kill a Saturday afternoon. But on the big screen it just gave me headaches. Maybe it works if I had see Bourne Identity. But as for now, the only redeeming factor is Joan Allen - ain't she look beautiful, or dare I say, hot in this one!? :big grin:

Saw Garden State today and i loved it. the soundtrack is unbelieveable the songs were so good i didnt want it to end i think that the soundtrack made this movie great when it would have been just good if it had a different song selection.
    i give it a 4 out of 5
