IMDB lists filming locations as Serbia and Hungary.

Where exactly did they film this?

Where did the producers find an entire abandoned city?

There is no way they build them for the movie.

Some of the interior shots look authentic like the place has really been abandoned for 25 yrs.

I've never seen this movie til tonight.

I remember in 1980, when this came out, I was in High School and just about everyone was raving about how funny it was.

Well, I chuckled a few times but I didn't find it funny at all.

From reading at the comments on the IMDB Board for this film, it seems to me I am not the only one who thought so.

    Maybe times have changed.

Maybe if I saw this in 1980 at the age of 15 1/2, I would had felt differently.

It's good to see Rodney Dangerfield and Chevy Chase at their heydays and the girl, Cindy Morgan, personifies how women really looked like and not the fake plastic drama materialistic prima donnas we have today.

I remember missing this movie at the Theater in 1982 when it was released and I wanted to see it so bad!

Now that I've seen it today for the very first time, I'd wish I didn't.

I think I would have enjoyed this movie a lot more 30 years ago when I was 17 then now at 47!

p.s. the Henstooth Video DVD released September 2012 is a beautiful and pristine transfer; it's too bad it didn't have any trailers on it.

    The Scapegoat (1959)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053247/

Sir Alec Guinness in a dual role as a man caught up in mistaken identity in this Daphne DuMaurier novel based mystery.

    Started out interestingly with a lot of narrative and suspense potential;

but then it misfires as the film progresses with an ending that fails to deliver!

Even strong performances from a strong cast composed of Guinness, Bette Davis, Irene Worth, Nicole Maurey, Pamela Brown and a scenes stealing one role young actress, Annabel Bartlett as the daughter, can't save this movie!

    3/5

    Skyfall (2012)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1074638/

    Not impressed by it!

Still better than Quantum of Solace but it lacked the punch of Casino Royale and even Brosnan's Goldeneye or Dalton's The Living Daylights.

I have to give it only 3/5!!

    Ted (2012)

there was a lot of hype created by friends how awesome this film is. so i checked it out and i was rather disappointed. not saying it was bad as i liked the chemistry between wahlberg and macfarlane. having sam j. jones it was the best part of it. but in the end it's a good movie. nothing special.

    5.5/10

    total recall (2012)

well, i wont compare it to the 1990 version because that wouldn't do the movie justice. i rather look at it as a stand alone version and that it works pretty good. though, taking out all the guts from gun-fights sucked big time and the extended cut wont bring any major gore/blood back. it still feels like a hard pg-13.
the one thing that really pissed me off is the use of lens flares... i hated it in star trek (2009), i hated it even more in super 8 (2011) and total recall (2012) is no different. who came up with this stupid idea anyway? the flares ruined so many shots. yikes.

but i still recommend the movie as it is a good sci-fi action flick. having beckinsale and biel together is a win win anyway

    6.5/10

Who came up with that idea?

    Wasn't it J. J. Abrams?

I haven't seen Total Recall 2012 but I am hoping for some Beckinsale and Biel girl girl action!

Rekall should have a porno program vacation with Beckinsale and Biel in it.

Len Wiseman was the director. He is responsible for those terrible Underworld movies. Well, maybe not terrible but extremely mediocre. JJ Abrams was not involved at all in this remake. A quick google could have told you that.

Kurt Wimmer wrote the initial screenplay, which was rewritten by a couple of other writers.

I do use GOOGLE (the only search engine I use along with other Google things like Chrome and Gmail and Google Maps and Google Earth and Google Cloud and Google Android phone and Google Android Apps and...) and I also own a couple of shares of GOOG

But yes, J. J. Abrams started the whole flare lens thing.

I found Star Trek to be very annoying on my eyes!
