    The Frozen Ground (2013)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2005374/

True story based film about Alaskan serial killer Robert Hansen:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Hansen

Nicolas Cage and Vanessa Hudgens turn in a strong performance despite a by the numbers predictable Hollywood script.

The movie would had been better if it focused more on the serial killer and the real facts pertaining to this case instead of adding typical Hollywood subplots that didn't happen in real life for the purpose of narrative dramatic.

    The Bling Ring (2013)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2132285/

True story about rich kids with too much time on their hands who burglarize homes belonging to celebrities Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and Orlando Bloom and many others.

    Moral of this movie?

Do not leave your front door unlocked with the alarm not set and leave keys under the front door mat.

Paris' home was hit at least 5 times, each time her home was unsecured and unlocked and she didn't noticed anything was missing until after the 5th burglary.

I watched this film from beginning to end and I didn't even realize until the end that one of the girls in it was Emma Watson.

I know we are supposed to suspend some degree of disbelief when we watch a movie but this film is insulting toward the intelligent members of the audience!!

They are going to make 3 more of these movies?

    New World (2013)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2625030/

This is another one of those WOW! crime dramas out of South Korea and China and Hong Kong.

    You got to see this!

Hollywood can learn from the Asian films producers and directors!

Did I say this movie is WOW?

    The Croods (2013)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0481499

    Considering the recent numbers of animated crap that's been produced just so they can be shown at the movie theater in 3D to rob movie goers of their hard earned money;

this was actually a fun animated film that emphasized a story with heart instead of cliche, boring, repetitive special effects.

    White House Down (2013)

    UGH! What a bad movie!

I thought Olympus Has Fallen was bad!

    This one is even worse!

    Who writes these junk movies?

I gave Olympus Has Fallen 3 out of 5 stars, 1 star above A Good Day To Die Hard.

I am giving White House Down 2.25 out of 5 stars!

    The Lone Ranger (2013)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1210819

    In the glut of over-hyped big budget Summer movies disappointments like Pacific Rim, Iron Man 3, Man Of Steel, Star Trek Into Darkness, World War Z, White House Down, Elysium, Fast and the Furious 6 and repetitive full length animations;

Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger is a breath of fresh air.

    This is a fun, inventive film containing panoramic cinematography of beautiful American landscape now forgotten and unexplored again;

with exciting action sequences accompanied by a rousing Hans Zimmer score and a surprisingly great performance from Johnny Depp as Tonto the Comanche Native American Indian.

Depp, who by the way is one of my least favorite actors, plays his role with so much zest and so much conviction, this is the only time I'll say he deserves an Oscar Nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

So if you are tired of the same giants robots/sea monsters/banale space travel/terrorists/zombies/Apocalyptic sci-fi/fast cars/comic books screen adaptations Summer films repetitive rehash, give The Lone Ranger a second look.

    You definitely won't be disappointed!!

    The Purge (I) (2013)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2184339/

    Interesting Premise.

    Poorly scripted.

    Poorly executed.

    Very cliche and predictable!

Someone came up with a good premise but that was it.

No one involved in the writing and production and directing of this film had an ioda of an idea of what to do with that premise.

    Kick-Ass 2 (2013)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1650554/

The first one was fun and cute and fresh.

Not only is this sequel a big mess, it has also lost the novelty of the original movie.

Furthermore, Chloe is a teenager now.

It just not the same having Hit Girl being older.

Watching her kick ass when she was a little girls was cute.

Watching her kick ass now as a teenager is the same as watching a High School movie like Mean Girls.

Considering the Mean Girls subplot that was inserted into the storyline of this sequel, this could had been Mean Girls 3 (there was a made for TV Mean Girls 2 sequel).

Remember the first scene of Mindy and Nic together in the first movie when Nic shot her?

That scene really took me by surprise and it was a definitely a BIG "WTF?" moment!

Now you have the same scene with Mindy and Dave and you knew what was coming this time.

It wasn't fun anymore when she shot him.

    I hope they don't plan a sequel.

    Despicable Me (2010)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1323594/

I've finally brought myself to watch this after all these years!

Weird strange movie but cute and enjoyable!

Still don't know what those little yellow one-eyed and two-eyed workers are?

Why are they yellow and not another color?

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0770828/

    Thank You Christopher Nolan!

First you ruined the Batman franchise.

Now you have also ruined the Superman franchise.

Is this an new unwritten rule in Hollywood that's set in stone?

Whenever they need someone to write a screenplay for a Comic to movie adaptation, you must have a hand and a say in it?

    You are a hack, Nolan!

    Very disappointed in this movie!

Furthermore, Lois Lane is not supposed to know Clark Kent is Superman.

    Damn you Nolan.

You took 75 years of Superman history and you changed it!

Siegel and Shuster are rolling in their graves!!

    Machete Kills

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2002718/

Not too bad, plenty of over the top action with over the top gadgets/weapons.
A bunch of cameos along with it. While the story line wasn't all that complicated ,it was of coarse, over the top.
The ending sets up for a sequel that the trailer was shown at the beginning, Machete Kills Again... In Space.
Over all i think the 1st one was a little better but this was as I mentioned earlier, not too bad.

I found this description from the upcoming 2015 release of their own movie, Minions.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minions_%28film%29

Minions are yellow henchmen who have existed since the beginning of time, evolving from yellow single-celled organisms into beings who have only one purpose: to serve history's most ambitious villains.

Since when? I am a long time reader of Superman comics and Lois Lane had known for years that Superman and Clark Kent are one and the same. In fact they where married for years until DC's recent "New 52" retcon.

House at the End of the Street (2012)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1582507/

Full of Horror films cliches that we've seen over and over before.

For example, there is a dead body and you are going to reach around it and boom, it's not dead anymore and the arm grabs you out of nowhere.

    Stupid horror movie cops.

    Etc Etc
