    Free Fall (2014)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3259178/

I kept waiting for something exciting to happen and nothing ever did.

Unfortunately the writer of this movie couldn't come up with anything more imaginative or fruitful or even original aside from a cliched plot of a woman stuck in an office tower's elevator while trying to get away from a killer.

I think the writer started out as "Hey! I can write a Die Hard with a girl movie" but then when he actually sat down to write the script, he just couldn't come up with anything.

Sort of like back in school when you were told to write a paper on what you did during your Summer vacation.

You were all excited and you were ready to write a detailed paper on everything you did during your Summer vacation:

you wrote your name on the top of the paper and after that, your train of though just came to a complete stop and you'd spent the rest of the class staring at the paper not knowing what to write down next beside "On my Summer vacation, I...".

    Beneath (2013)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2991296/

Another one of the so called 'inspired by true events' movie which we all know it's just a gimmick to get people to watch it.

I call this movie Descent Wannabee Light!

    Cute movie!

Too bad it flopped at the box office.

I doubt there will be a sequel.

    The Interview (2014)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2788710/

Good for a couple of laughs and giggles and not much else!

I don't know if NK and Kim Jong-un were really responsible for the Sony Hack.

On one hand I like to think this movie is so irrelevant, no one should take it seriously as a real threat, not even the leader of another country hence why I want to believe that NK and Kim Jong-un really had nothing to do with the Sony Hack:

you'd think the leader of another country would have better and more important things to do than worry about a made in America fictional movie.

On the other hand if NK and Kim Jong-un and his minions were really behind the Sony Hack, it makes you ponder if they are straight in the head and whether they really do pose a threat to the rest of the world?

Either way, politics aside, I can't recommend this movie to anyone - not even for the $5.99 streaming rental price.

The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies (2014)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2310332/

Not as epic as the 2nd or 3rd movies in the LOTR trilogy.

I also feel there was some parts that was forgotten by the writers when the movie IMO just ended.

Since I don't want to spoil it for anyone, I will go and ask about it at IMDB board and probably get a bunch of trolls giving me smart ass answers.

2.5/5 or 6 on IMDB Rating System

p.s. My brother and his kids are down here for Christmas.

So my nephews being teenagers and into all that latest tech, they wanted to spend the extra $ and see it in XD Real D 3D HFR instead of just watching it in regular 3D or digital 2D.

I didn't think it was worth the $16 per person ticket to see it in XD Real D 3D HFR.

I could had seen it in digital 2D for $6.50 and still be happy.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2179136

    Best Picture of 2014!

I hope Clint Eastwood wins another Best Picture and Best Director Academy Awards Oscar.

All the people who called Mr. Kyle a killer, a liar and other bad things and want to smear his name, his military career and his achievements in combat - which helped saved many U.S. soldiers should be sent to Afghanistan and Iraq - including Jesse Ventura who was only out to money grab from Mr. Kyle's estate.

We will see how tough they really are - it's easy to talk the talk but it's not easy to walk the walk!

    Jesse ain't so tough.

All that wrestling crap he did was all fake!

All that tough stuff he did in the movies with Arnold Schwarzenegger was fake.

But he thinks he is a tough guy and he ain't!

Sent him out in the real world of blood and gore and death and violence.

He will cry like a sissy his first time in combat getting shot at with real live bullets.

    Unbroken (2014)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1809398/

Joel Coen and Ethan Coen (Fargo, No Country For Old Men, Miller's Crossing, True Grit 2010, Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski, O' Brother, Where Art Thou?) wrote the screenplay for this movie and Angelina Jolie directed it?

    What happened?

Did all 3 of them had an off day while making this film?

I expected much much more from the 3 of them.

This was more like a Lifetime movie of the week or something like that....

    UGH!

    Big Hero 6 (2014)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2245084/

I will add this over-rated over-hyped animated film to the list of other recent animated films that I didn't like which include Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph, Tangled, Monsters University and The Lego movie.

Noticed how Big Hero 6 and most of the films I listed were Walt Disney Animation Studios production?

Walt Disney = over-rated over-hyped emptying your wallet money grabbing junk!

Maybe there is a pattern of failure building at Disney?

    The Sentinel (2006)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0443632/

This could had been a Jack Bauer "24" movie!!

I had 3 problems with the casting:

Michael Douglas is too old to be a Secret Service agent assigned to the Presidential Protective Division.

He was 61 when this movie was made.

If he entered the Secret Service when he was younger, he would have already been put on desk duty and not still guarding the President.

Eva Longoria is too short to be a Secret Service field agent especially one assigned to the Presidential Protective Division.

She is only 5 feet 2 inches.

David Rasche aka Sledge Hammer played the President and every time he appears on screen, I just couldn't see him as the President.

Definitely recommended. The effects, makeup - all very realistic. It's very heart wrenching. I was going all Ouch! ouch! in one of the scenes.

    YIKES!

    Talk about crazy psycho B!

Rosamund Pike was nominated for Best Actress for her portrayal of a crazy woman/housewife and I think she will win too!

She makes Alex Forrest (of Fatal Attraction for those of you who either do not remember that name or were not around in 1987) looks like a convent nun!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1951265/

Yikes! I want my 2 hours back!

Katniss was whiny and a cry baby in this!

A far cry from her strong female persona in the first 2 films.

Lawrence's acting was awful too but of course she didn't have much to work with in term of a script besides being whiny and crying.

By the time she cried for Peeta for the 4th time, we have stopped caring for her!

Yes Katniss, we know you are going through a dry spell and you want Peeta but come on, there are other guys around!

I can't believe she'd even agreed to that script - you'd think after 2 films and 100 of millions in box office receipts and Lawrence being the main star of the film, she would had somewhat control of the script.

Now we have to wait for a sequel which is totally unnecessary.

This could had been wrapped up in one 2 hours film instead of 2 hours of crying and pouting and pouting and crying and whining.

    3 out of 10 stars.

I watched the first 11 min of Night At The Museum Secret Of The Tomb.

I got to the part when they were giving the presentation at the dinner banquet and then the ancient Egyptian tablet started affecting Roosevelt and all the museum characters and everyone went berserk and panic ensued, etc etc

Just more of the same boring mayhem and recycled visual gags that were in the first 2 movies.

Not going to finish watching the rest.

Looking back at my IMDB rating for the first 2 films, I gave each one a 1 out of 10 so I doubt this one would be better if even that than the previous 2 films.
