    Saw The Stepford Wives.

What good is a story if you know what the end is, other than enjoying how it unfolds? Well, my problem with Stepford is that I had an idea - from the trailers - of how the story will wrap, and then the progression of events wasn't exciting enough, so I really lost the immersion in the film's climate several times.

The point is that I found Nicole Kidman discoverage of the truth too late. Although they disclosed the "mystery" in about the middle of the film, Kidman didn't find everything out until almost the end. Not to mention the fact that I didn't find her astonished enough.

Furthermore, I don't like films that establish a wrong climate. All the film we see a world that is probably today, but in the end, we turn into 2100. That was so silly. They could have just made the husband another chip-modified person, but a human-like robot? This was pushed a little too far.

I give this chicks-with-chips film a 2.5/5, mainly because of the set design, and that the director didn't dare to go for more than 90 minutes!

Caught Lion King 1.5 on the TV last night. That was a pretty good movie. I'm going to have to look for the DVD.

    Saw Collateral.

Could someone, more intellectual than I am, tell me more about this style of cinematography. Those blacks and browns, shaky camera, closeups, continous story with little time and space jumps; I've seen this before. They give me a feeling of a closer reality, much like Training Day and Changing Lanes.

Saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
such a rip off from Superman's Lewis Lane, and Never Ending Story, and the Iron Giant...
the only cool think, the style... and oh well Jude Law, and Angelina Julie were both good.

Two days, six movies... Could have done eight though...

    1. Catwoman - meh
    2. The Terminal - nice. Hanks' great as always. Tucci's performance's good as well. Not sure about Zeta-Jones as a romantic interest.
    3. Life and Death of Peter Sellers - I guess it's okay. Tucci's not exactly how I picutre what Kubrick was. Lithgrow's completely unrecognisible to me as Blake Williams. Theron's accent kinda betrayed her in the role of Britt Ekland. Rush... hmmm... I don't know Sellers well enough to comment on the autheticity of his performance. But his imitation of Sellers' characters in the movies I've seen (Casino Royale, Dr Strangelove... surprisingly nothing on Lolita) is passable.
    4. Dodgeball - have to see it because you guys posted so many clips I have to write down notes while viewing to work out the order of appearance. True story!
    5. Shark Tales - not as good as Nemo as I suspected. Don't know why the audience thought it's funny.
    6. Love Me If You Dare - can't really say whether I like it or not. I do wish there was something in my life who would play dare with me all the time, and honestly, I might just do all the crazy things they did in the film... *sigh*...

    Still have to check out:

    Donnie Darko: Director's Cut
    Thunderbirds

And of course, Garfield. But I think my date's gonna stand me up.

Sgt. Johnny Beaufort: He says, "The Apaches are a great race," sir. "They've never been conquered. But it is not well for a nation to be always at war. The young men die... the women sing sad songs... and the old ones are hungry in the winter."
